Thought it'd be a good idea for those of us who make use of VPS's and the Cloud in general to post good deals in this thread.

I received this in a mail from ChicagoVPS (www.chicagovps.net).Just a note if you're going to install a Windows OS: they only give you an unactivated version, you have to use your own product key - found this out only afterwards :)

Stay far away from www.chicagovps.net - you'd be better off hosting your sites / applications on your friends adsl line in an area that is subjected to load shedding twice a week.

Can't drop a statement like this and not substantiate it.

Their VPS solutions are not stable by any means and one can expect around 6 hours of downtime per month. It seems that they dont have any monitoring in place to monitor their nodes and their response to all issues seems to be that restarting other servers within the node solves all issues.

IP's are reclaimed from live servers and you're left with servers that are dead to the world.
To sum it up, if you are looking for cheap and nasty then go with www.chicagovps.net - otherwise look around.

Mmmmm..

I have 2 with them 1 with OVH then a few with domains, 1 with elitehost and 2 with AH

And the only one in that list I had issues with was AF...

+1 ChicagoVPS are complete ****E!

There's a reason they've been marked as a bad host on LowEndTalk / LowEndBox.

I wouldn't touch them with barge pole.

Hosts I would use:

Digital Ocean
Ramnode
Vultr
HostUs
Host1Plus
Online.net
OVH

Have they fixed the issue of more than 30 mins downtime?

What issue is this, my servers are up and running.

The last downtime I can remember was last year when Vox went down, I think that was last year?
