The how to lose weight thread

Eating less has been proven to have the opposite effect. I agree with eating healthier, but anyone who is forced to eat less will over-eat sometime down the line.

Have had many weight-watcher friends blow up even more while "dieting"

Dieting <> eating less

Why would your weight watcher friends blow up? You learn to eat healthy at weight watchers, no dieting.

I was referring to people who have 2/3 helpings with each meal, its completely unnecessary ;)

All I have to do is cut beer, bread and brandy & coke from my diet and then I will lose my boep in no time.

There is no way to target the boep area, the only way is to get your body in shape so it starts using the reserves( your boep). Eat and exercise is the only way to remove belly fat.

There are way more cortisol receptors in the belly area, so chronically high serum cortisol levels result in proportionately more belly fat.

Other than tumours, etc, high cortisol levels are generally associated with chronic stress. i.e. stressed men are likely to develop more belly fat.

Maybe but for our bodies store the fat in our tummy area, so you can be the most relaxed bloke on the block but if you eat poorly and never exercise you will have a fat belly.

I've dropped 9kg's in 8 weeks by changing what I eat and doing more exercise. I've definitely lost more in fat though as I've gain muscle as well.

Eating 5-6 times a day. 3 normal meals and 2-3 snacks. The biggest change has been in the amount I eat. I now eat less for dinner and lunch combined then I did for just dinner. Also choosing healthier options where available, like wholewheat bread instead of white. I've dropped out all refined sugar and sweets. Also eating a lot more fruit and veg. I've not been scared of natural animal fats or full cream milk. While going for healthier option then before, I still want to enjoy my food.

For exercise I've been turbulence training 3 times a week. A nice intense 20-30 min workout.

I've slacked off on the training the last month and I can see it. Weight is still going down slowly. If I'd stuck with the training or even added on some interval training I reckon I could easily have hit my goal of 20kgs in 12 weeks.

I know a guy that was up to about 140kg, decided to go to gym and lost about 15kg in ONE session!!!!

One of those machines ripped off his arm.

Thats awesome. if you don't mind me asking - were you overweight or do you just want to get real slim and slender?

great thread : i never noticed the spelling :p

Ok i have a very average build but my boep has been getting the better of me for the last 6 months id say. In the last 2 weeks ive started cutting out sweets and chocies etc and we are eating light healthy meals for dinner (tuna salad, fish and veggie bakes).
Now i know i need to exercise to get this boep going but im concerned about the general boep itself. Is any specific exercise going to target this lil bastard ?
Im going to Plett in December and no ways i can do anything about it now but im working on it next year. Any advice on how to get this boep to dissapear properly.
I have noticed i feel lighter since ive started this mini diet.

Also the biggest pain is once you reach a level of fitness it really is difficult to maintain.
I remember being slender in 2007/8. I stopped playing indoor soccer and the boep literally appeared in 1 month. I think its sometimes just too much effort.... work kills energy enough as is.

the best exercise for you and as a matter of fact for everybody out there is to do cardio regularly. running, cycling, rowing whatever type.

after you finished with your cardio exercise you must wait one hour before eating this is proven to give you 300% weight loss effectiveness... And then of course you can do 4 sets of crunches etc for your abs. reps and increase sets or reps... It is also important to keep your resting times in between not more than 30secs.

Then again everyone trains differently.

Ok so i'd like to go on another diet.I'm not overweight by any extent but i just want to get back to having a flat stomach. No six pack ripped abs (that's dreaming) but just no boep.

I don't know...can you guys advice me. Let me first break down what i eat in a normal day.
Breakfast - 2 Weetbix (with sugar and some syrup, not alot just to give some taste)
Lunch - 2 slices of Low Gi bread with some jam spread,1 apple,1 pear and 5 provitas.
Dinner - 2 minute noodles.2 minute noodles.2 minute moodles :P

Ok so i definetely know i don't consume as much food as most ppl but i just can't seem to be losing weight.During the WC i ate like a crazy ravenous beast and Mcdonalds was my all too often.
I just don't get it how ive completely cut out junk food and nonsense food for a month and ive actually put on 2 kgs?!

Please can i get some advice :D

The thing people want to hear is...weight loss is easy and you can still eat McDonalds when you want and how much you want...Its not simple. It takes dedication, if you can stay away from carbs and NOT starve yourself...you'll be off to a good start. Simple cardio like running, air walk or spinning...always remember to eat your FAV BAD food like KFC or McD's or pizza or chocolate or whatever once a week, just to settle your system Most people who SHOCK their bodies, WILL get the weight of...but then gain it back again...its a LIFESTYLE change, so many people have said it before, but no one listens...its not something you just do for the next 4 months and once you've reached your golas you go back to how it was...the moment you accept that its a lifestyle change...you'l be cool!
