Painting a Picture - cool. not cool watching someone paint.

But some people still do it. Some also purchase the final product, which in affect is what you're doing when you watch rugby, considering these days it is made for television.

Playing a game - nice, half of mybb do that almost on a daily basis, probably. watching someone play, hmm....nah..

Yet some people do it. We have Fifa tournaments every now and then with a group of mates and land up watching each other play - hasn't got boring yet.

Eating - lekka. watching someone eat....err..?

And yet eating competitions are televised the world over these days. Not my cuppa tea, but it happens.

Climbing a mountain/Scuba diving/Flying a plane/etc/etc. great! an achievement!

And many of them are filmed and broadcast, because some people watch it.

Playing a sport - Nice, exciting, and healthy. watching sport? why? who gives a ****? Who cares if we lost cricket with 32 overs or whatever?

Just like anything else, if you enjoy the activity in question, you'll more than likely watch someone else play it/perform it. There used to be a program on tele about video games - did you watch it?

This is a pretty stupid argument you're using though - like saying we shouldn't watch a movie about space travel - we should rather just hop on a space shuttle ourselves, instead...

OK, is this simple enough?

I don't want to stare at men for 3 hours every weekend, whatever the fsck they are doing! :D

But you'll stare at digital male monsters for at least 3 hours at a time? :D

Rugby? Isn't that a game with a funny shaped ball? I'll take American Football over rugby any day.

DJK, you have good points though, can argue with you there - If someone likes building cars they will watch car building shows....

I guess the image of "But we played that when we were children" is burned into my brain

I can't see a grown man play hide and go seek at 30, so what makes a ball cool?

Enjoy your rugby gents, atleast I can understand now, kinda........

I hope all of your teams lose and when driving home from the bar, you bump your car out of your angry driving

Many of us still play rugby as adults, and many other sports. But you don't have to have played it as a kid to enjoy it. I know of a few guys who hated rugby back at school but support their relevant teams vehemently now. Turns out most of them just didn't understand the game...;)

Nice lemonchiffon btw - can't understand why everyone's chatting about you turning this into a gay thread.

BTW, there is nothing gay about rugby. There is no testicle fondling and the only ones with an issue being so close to another man are those who are still a little uncomfortable about their own sexuality. Take one tackle from Tendai Mtawariwa then come back to me and tell me it's gay...

Yep, nothing gay about grown men showering together after a sweaty game, right DJK? :p

If they have never whipped each other with a towel while in there, i'll accept that it is not gay - but with joost walking around in ripped underpants i'm not so sure anymore....

and Wrestling? c'mon, you gotta give me that! it doesn't matter how big a wrestler you are "Tackling", it's just not right.

+1
I never played in school, didn't like the Afrikaner rugby profile to be honest, but I still backed the bulls. I would have played touchies here and there though.

If you dont like rugby, you should atleast recognise the fact that its an awesome party/braai starter ;) I love rugby, but nothing beats planning a braai around it and in the end of the day, no one really cares about the rugby, more about having a good time...
