I do agree there. I was saying in the other thread AB and QDK should open together with # at 3.

as for opening Bowling Dale and Rabada coming in with a new ball, building off the strength from the other side of the pich can be an amazing pair when firing on all cilenders.

KG does like learning and always asks questions, so there is a lot of potential in him

Opening Batsmen and opening Bowlers we have the stuff we need.

in the middle order batsmen we have JP, Faf and in this case # to hold the ground and secure partnerships while the other side smashes the bowlers.
Middle order bowlers we have Abbot, Wise and Tahir. Tahir being the Shinning light to make it all better, because for some reason in T20 spinners are better than fast bowlers...

so we have yet another World cup where we have a wining squad on paper. but this year we have a small thing we have never had.
we are fighting back. we have always been on top of our game. right now we are in a fighting back mentality, because we lost the test #1 position the boys are going out there and giving more than ever, and I think that is what is going to make the difference.
 
So optimistic I am that I looked on Sunbet and the odds are 11/2 to us winning the competition, I think I am going to put R100 on us winning this thing. :D

Yeah , have to agree on current form I don't think JP or Behardien can be relied on for 4 overs , especially not against any of the top teams . The reality is JP is horribly out of form with the ball lets hope he at least starts scoring some runs . As for Behardien , well he does not even bowl at Franchise level much these days for the Titans .

A pity there was no place for Albie , I think he would have done well over there for us and given us another all rounder option .

Yeah, JP misses out in favour of Wiese or Abbot.

After reading some reports and comments today by FaF etc it seems as though AB is set to open in the World Cup and they are saying that it will be a straight shoot out between De Kock and Amla to open with the other sitting out . I must admit I find this rather short sighted ,especially if you consider that JP , Miller and RR are all not in the greatest of touches at the moment . Personally I feel they should be a little more flexible after all would you not want your best batsmen in form playing ?

For me AB opening with De Kock and Amla to come in at no 3 solves the issue and also gives us the power at the top with the back up of Amla at 3 should things go wrong . FaF would then need to do what is right for the team and move down the order . That then leaves positions 5 & 6 to be made up of 2 of the remaining batsmen .

With Amla at no 3 we have the back up should things not come off and we loose an early wicket and on the other side should we get off to a flier then we could always promote one of the other hard hitting batsmen up the order to number 3 .

AB to drop down to 3, with QdK and Amla opening and RR falling out of the matchday XI.

yes JP's bowling is lackluster, but his T20 stats mean he is too good to leave out of the team.

With Stein, Rabada, TAhir, Morris and Wiese in there we can even consider Abbot.

so that would just sift the role of Faf and # a little, but give us the best possible line up.

that is my opinion the strongest team and order we have. but I do not think this is what should be the correct 11 for india. I think we will need another spinner, but I dont think anyone has proven themselves good enough to take out anyone in that team.

Also I think the weak point in the team is too many fast bowlers for T20, but its not something South african conditions can cater for. we just o not breed spinners like the subcontinent does.

Only playing 5 out and out batsman is silly. Morris and wiese are not better then miler & rossouw or behardien, atleast one of them needs to play at 6.

Yeah, T20 is a batsmens' game...most teams stock the batting order and make do with whatever bowlers they can squeeze in.

Wiese is going to be lucky to get a game, imo - Chuck Norris has been in form with the bat which may be more valuable. We may see just the one of Morris and Wiese unless we go uber on the batting and drop a bowler.
 
Both Wiese and Morris will play imho, unless pitch is a rank turner and they need an extra spinner. Think the unlucky guy to miss out is going to abbot when steyn is fit.
 
This is going to be an interesting and exiting tournament.

I think I will put R100 on SA, and R100 on the West Indies to be out right winners.

My prediction is the finishing order will be:
Bangladesh
Netherlands
Ireland
Ohman

Group B will be:
Zimbabwe
Afghanistan
Hong Kong
Scotland

So the super 10 will finsh in this order:
Group 1
SL
SA
Eng
WI
Zim

Group 2:
Aus
NZ
Ind
Pak
Ban

So Top 4:
SA VS NZ
SL vs Aus

NZ and Aus to win.
Final to be a repeat of the ODI WC.

it will be a tense tournament. with a loss almost knocking a team out of the finals in the super 10.
Group 1 will be close all the way to the final match, SA vs SL and that is where one of those two teams will pick up the first loss of the tournament.

BTW I am not saying we will choke in the end, I am saying we will be beaten. it will most likely be a VERY close game, it will be down to the last ball, and that is how the game will be decided.

I think Aus has a very strong team at the moment, and the BBL has given all the players a different kind of exposure, they will simply glide through the tournament.

they will loose outright to Aus. and then a VERY close game between them and NZ will go to NZ.
they will finish third in their pool, disappointed but proud.

Kind of like Eng in our pool.

This would have changed after the England series. Now Morris comes in, and it's a choice between JP/Behardien...
