The iOS 11 Thread/Discussion

iOS 11 beta 5 rolls out to developers

As Apple continues testing iOS 11 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch ahead of its scheduled fall release, the Cupertino technology giant today seeded a fifth beta of the upcoming software update to the registered developers and members of the Apple Developer Program.

A matching public beta will likely drop within the next 24 hours.

If you’re a developer whose device already runs a previous beta of iOS 11, you can upgrade to iOS 11 beta 5 (build number 15A5341f) over the air using the Software Update mechanism in the Settings app.

A configuration profile provided on Apple’s Dev Center must be installed on the device.

Originally released as a developer-only preview at WWDC in June, iOS 11 packs in a surprising number of new features, improvements, enhancements and user interface refinements.

Some of them include a customizable Control Center, a redesigned App Store, brand new multitasking features on iPad with the interactive Dock and drag and drop, a dedicated Files app, AirPlay 2 with multi-room audio, new Siri capabilities and more.

iOS 11 will release for public consumption this fall across supported iOS device models.

Currently updating my iPhone but its a bit late for the iPad, the memory bug just pissed me off too much and I restored back to 10.3.3 on Saturday.

Started up my iPhone again, it's downloading iOS 11 again :erm:

Unless you delete the profile and reboot it will.

Though I'm not finding any glaring problems yet on the iPhone, (at least not the "other" part of System memory increasing in size by 2GB a day like the iPad was).

Well it's not bad, found a few issues clearing apps and notifications.
/Ignoring iOS bricked my phone when I tried to revert to 10

Delete profile, reboot the phone, delete the download. Job done...

But maybe leave it on for now ;)

:p

Happy with iOS 11. Only reason I tried the revert is because I was going to give me dad the phone

So now with beta 5, better for a daily driver?

I'll be testing it this week. Beta 4 had quite a few quirks, including videos not showing with AirPlay, bluetooth linking problems, rotation, some graphics glitches and a few crashes.

Hey now that's Jeff Benjamin you're talking about.

A veteran at doing Apple-related tech videos.

Veteran or not, sounds like a robot.

And I’ve noticed it with a lot of “list” type videos lately.

People add zero personality to it as if they are bored out of their minds and doing you a favour.
