The iOS 13 Thread/Discussion

I don't have that setting on my automation.

EDIT:
Seems like this toggle is not available for Leaving / Arriving automations.

Yeah that's what I'm saying it seems to be missing for many but still "on" by default hence the pop up to perform the action.

Which makes it utterly useless.

Ah OK, now I get what you mean. Sorry only had one cup of coffee in when I first saw your post.

I'm afraid the current implementation of automations are by design and not some bug in the software.

See this page for Apple's answer.

The idiot that thought this is a good idea should be fired. It completely negates the usefulness of this feature.

Sorry Apple but something that needs manual intervention is not an automation, it's a reminder.

Hi Guys,

Has anybody here experienced an issue where if you answer a call on ios 13, you would hear the other guys first word in a stutter and then the call just disconnects?

To explain this better. If you were to answer my call and say "hallo", I would only hear "ha ha ha ha" and then the call drops.

This seems to be random but myself and 2 other relatives has this issue. We are all on Vodacom and on iPhone 7,8 and 8+(all updated to 13.1.1)

Anybody from other networks experienced this yet?

Never had this before ios 13.

Sounds like a call originating from a bad VOIP line.

Doubt it’s your handset.

I bought the iPhone 11 Pro on Friday launch day. During the first few seconds of a call I would hear 'scratching' loud sounds than the call would drop. It didn't happen on my iPhone 6s so I thought the issue was the phone. Took it to iStore mall of africa on Monday.. it was taken to repair centre in Boksburg.. I only received it back yesterday after being furious that my brand new phone took 4 days to come back. They didn't find the call dropping issue.

Upon receiving the phone I noticed a very visible hairline scratch on the side of the glass (and a few smaller ones) and I am told it had them before I booked it in. They showing me a picture which was taken during booking which is full of fingerprints (the guy didn't bother wiping the screen before taking pictures ) I can't make it out if it's a scratch or fingerprint I just gave up. But I only had the phone over a weekend after launch and barely went out.. so I don't know how I would pick up such visible hairline scratches just by using a phone and putting it on a table. Ironically when I was booking the device I asked the guy to inspect the phone as I was sure it didn't have a single scratch. But when I receive it back it's so visible it's scratched.

Yeah, those were still going strong on iOS 12.x. I’m sure they could have handled the upgrade.

Not a chance, they have only 1 GB of RAM.

Same reason the iPhone 5S and 6 were dropped.

This.. I have automations that trigger now but I never click on run on non-essential ones I check because it’s suppose to auto

Didn't know that. iOS 11 made them run like crap anyways, then iOS 12 fixed them.

It would run iOS 13 just fine but not iPad OS.

Planned obsolescence.

No, it’s called progress.

1GB RAM.

Consider how little that actually is and how amazingly it’s done until now.

Simply time to move on, can’t support the old stuff forever.

At the end of the day it’s still much the same thing with a different name for it’s flavour and contents. Like Windows does Home/Pro etc.

I see iOS as another build update not a full OS update such as macOS sierra to mojave.

iOS now is like windows 10, where it will keep getting these small improvements. iOS 13 should have been called iOS 12.5 or something.

This sucks so much. I really despise Core Group. Why was the phone sent in for repairs in the first place? For the price they're asking they should have swapped it for a new one, no questions asked. And if (or rather when) they damage your phone they ALWAYS have the excuse that it was there already. I swear if I ever have to send something in for repairs with these guys I will photograph it from every angle before the time.

I have not noticed any weird stuttering or dropped calls since moving to iOS 13. I'm on Telkom - iPhone 7 Plus.

I will suggest you upgrade to 13.1.2 and see if it helps. It fixed a notification issue which I had.

Anyone using HomeKit with an Apple Watch?

All of a sudden devices don’t want to respond to commands from the Watch since the last update.

Phone still works.

I am so disheartened by this it's not funny.. the phone is literally sitting in my laptop bag I couldn't be bothered using it.. I waited for this new iPhone 11 since July when my iPhone X broke.. I decided to wait. On launch day I was at the door at 6 am... got the phone at about by 8 a.m. as it was a contract upgrade. Didn't unbox it till I was home in the afternoon.. there was this iOS issue where you couldn't restore from backup.. so I didn't use it on the Friday night.. only started using it Saturday to take pictures at a restaurant.. and of cos anyone with a brand new phone that price would handle it with care.. especially during those 'honey moon days'. I stay alone, no kids. When I was driving I put it next to that big space by the gear lever face up.. still cos of excitement.. Sunday I didn't go anywhere.. was home whole day.. only went out on Monday when I was taking it to iStore to report this call dropping issue.. the waiting there for technicians is long.. during that time I was inspecting the phone.. asked the tech guy to check it as I know there are no scratches.. he took 1 lousy picture of the screen without even wiping it.. really I didn't think much of it.. as I knew there were no scratches so expected it to be returned without any..

After a whole 4 days of nagging and following up.. eventually phone was back.. they couldn't replicate the call dropping issue but I thought whatever, I just want my phone back.. the moment I took it out of the box.. glaring hairline scratches on the side of the screen.. needless to say they zooming in on the fingerprint and saying it was already there! :-(.. That line they showing is so thick I'm sure it's a fingerprint.. The hairline scratch is thin!

To make things worse.. if I am walking with the phone.. after using it I slide it in the pocket upside down.. meaning it goes in the pocket with the camera part first, the part where there would be a fingerprint sensor would be sticking out of the pocket.. (if that makes sense) it's just a natural thing to do I'm sure lots of people just put it in the pocket like that..

Now these scratches are on the lower area of the screen. I just inspected my iPhone 6s now.. it has more scratches on the upper area than lower area due to how I slide it in my pocket.. so trying to think of all scenarios that would cause me to scratch this brand new iPhone 11 Pro in literally 2 days.. and I can't find any!
