The iPad 2 availabitiy thread

Has anyone seen any recent news articles on the shortage? I thought Apple had bought out enough stock before the Japan quake?

Hi
For the ones who don't want to wait and
Wait and one phone call upon the other
Just to hear... No stock No ETA. You can
Order 1 from kalahari.net and it gets
Deliver at your doorstep! :) and they have
3G stock! But... Its more expensive than istore
Dion wired and IC. But like I said its for
Those of you that don't want to wait any longer.
That's how I got mine.

Surely Kalahari aren't allowed to hijack the thread to promote themselves?

Not really hijacking, more like an alternative, I'd rather wait. If Kalahari and the other local online importers weren't so greedy and made smaller markup they would sell more. R1.5k is waaay too much IMO.

I'm not from Kalahari! Was just thinking
I was helping any one that was looking for
A Ipad 2 with 3G. I was looking for Ipad
In Pretoria and Jhb and couldn't find
Anywhere and came across thread on friday
And have been following the posts. And found
That Kalahari has in stock. Just thought
I share it....

I find it odd that
you start a new
line of text every
seventh word or so?

Tell your friend I'll buy it from them for R7900 :D

it's what happens when the boss sends you a text-only mail of what to put in your "independant post" and you copy and paste.

If the price difference wasn't R1500 and they had a local warranty I would consider Kalahari. But come on....

thanks for telling those of us who are new to this world that Kalahari doesn't carry a local warranty. For some price wouldn't be such a big problem, but at the pace they are being forced to manufacture these appliances you always need some kind of protection against potentially faulty ones. The way things are going, the big day for possible restocking is definitely May 19, as other posts have already indicated, after the election...

IC

Canal walk : No stock
Somerset west : No stock
Cavendish : No stock

No ETA and have atleast 40-60 people on waiting list

Core group/Istore JHB and Cape town no stock
3 week waiting period with current back orders

Digi cape

No stock No Eta also have plus minus 3 week waiting period.

All of this info is what I got this morning when phoning. This info could possibly change at any time.
Was also told that there is such a high demand and shops will only receive 5 of each model in there next shipment

You would still get a warranty But the item would need to be shipped back to the USA for repairs. That is how I understand it.

Think its a case of so many people on waitng list that no stock even reaches the floor.
