The iPad 2 availabitiy thread

I asked them the same thing yesterday when i called there Hotline. Which the advert tells you to do to find out which branches have stock. They couldn't give me an answer. They also could not tell me which branches had stock So DOUBLE FAIL !!!!

Because they're bell ends. At least in their new pamphlets that make mention of tight stocks. Given that not even the iStores know when iPads will be coming in again I don't think you can blame IC alone.

Exactly, they say you should call the hotline, but then the hotline ask you your nearest store, provide the number which you must call.
Duh ... the number of all stores is on the website.

And I know they can check.. I went to incredible on launch day and they showed me on the system exactly which stores had which units and how many of them... Then they kept one for me at another branch, and I picked it up the next day.. 16gb 3G wifi white.
 
I'm now getting used to the idea of not owning an iPad 2 3G. The waiting has knocked the enthusiasm out of me. A few days ago you would say that my life depended on the applications that would make me buy this Apple product. Unfortunately the apps that I need so badly are only available for Apple devices. An iPhone is too small for me and a Mac is not mobile, although it can be considered portable. By the way, how are other tablets faring? When I visited the Samsung sales branch at Vodaworld the week before the last they showed me a 10" Android Samsung Galaxy that, as they told me, would be selling within the next few days. I left them my phone number (just in case) but they haven't called me as yet. I also saw an Android Acer tablet on display at Menlyn Incredible Connection for people to play around, but it wasn't in stock yet. Even if my apps were available on Android I wouldn't have much of a choice either because scarcity doesn't seem to be hitting the iPad 2 3G only, at least in SA.
 
I wish MyBB would approach Core for a comment on Ipad 2 availablity and what they are trying to do regarding stock shortages.
If one of us sends them a email it doesn't really warrant and explaination from them.

The problem with the other tablets is they're more expensive than the iPad 2 3G, and their software is just not there yet. Do you have a phone capable of 3G tethering over Wifi? Because then an iPad Wifi is fine, and there's plenty of those around.
 
Three hours after I had written here that I was tired of waiting, I got a call to go and collect my iPad 2 3G. I'm now busy setting it up. It is out there now. I hope you've been as lucky. Just be perseverant. May 19 proved right.

The stores in the Western Cape don't even want to take down any names, as they already have waiting lists of over 50
 
Yeah I spent ages deciding on what to go for only to discover I have to wait even longer and now some other options are becoming more appealing.
 
Ic at gateway has stock - just got one yesterday.
Have 16- 32 3 g

Thanks tried them but they where sold out when I called. Got a phonecall from IC canal walk. They had got 16gig wifi models in and even though I wanted 3G model they offered it to me. He also told me that they are receiving stock from apple in batches of 10 so the shops could try and sort out there list as quick as posible. So allthough they did'nt have one for me I was now 10 closer to the front.
