Only thing stopping me... is I'm re-evaluating my lifestyle and am going to stick with my iphone 5 and move to a contract without a device subsidy from December... otherwise i would have bought it already... Of course - this could change if my head overtakes my heart ;-)

Actually I found my iPad 2 is significantly better after the upgrade from 8.0.2 to 8.1.

As someone that have used Android, iPhone and Windows Phone the statement describes my Android experience perfectly. Going from Android to iPhone there is a response time and app quality difference.

I do have my problems with the iOS closed ecosystem and having to buy books from the webpage on Audible is just irritating where it worked in app on Android. But this is due to Amazon not wanting to pay Apple the appstore commissions.
