Anyone using a hacked version of BeeJive? Its not possible to run the hacked version anymore - the developers have built a hack into it that sends you to a youtube video telling you its not right to steal.

I have installed NimBuzz - free app and works about the same as beejive. (No background though ) But Beejive is ridiculously expensive.
 
anyone using fring, i've got no problem with it and it also supports skype, havent tried voip as yet but the chat function works very good, using yahoo/msn/skype/googletalk

Are you using the same .ipsw (firmware file) to jailbreak that your phone was restored / upgraded to?

To make sure you can restore it using the .ipsw, adnd browse to the SAME .ipsw file in QuickPwn. Must be the same..

Think that's why your getting that problem

i used fring on my old 2G about a year ago... skype worked well but it was kinda data heavy. a 10 min VOIP convo over skype used 24mb...
 
dev account for OS 3.0

Ok. So far the people who have shown interest are as follows:

morkhans
limnos
theron.roland
Aqua_lung
fxit_man
renierp

Which means we have 6 ppl already. I have a friend who is already signed up on the dev program (for 2.x) so once we have the cash there is no wait for the account we just give him the money to get access to 3.x and we can have our uuid's added. He will also chip in so that puts us on 7. I have a work colleague who might also be interested.

So anyone else?

I prefer using IM+ and IM+ for Skype...

Not such a fan of fring...

Hmm just some questions:

What exactly does this enable us to do? Just get access to the beta's and upcoming beta's? Publish our own apps?

What are we paying for?

Also, will we be able to run the beta's if we are running software unlocked iPhones without breaking the lock? Will we be able to unlock them again once we are done with the beta or want to revert back?

Anyone know?

Im on a friends Dev account and got 3.0 . Its not that great just got copy and paste added and a nice new spotlight tool. MMS dose not work in the first OS BETA

Its not worth $99 but i paid him $10 through paypal. He puts your phone on his account before you pay him so you can activate and us then pay. I can gie you te link o the OS 3.0 to

Alexander forbes, you'll need an existing policy, they have a minimum policy premium
 
I have the .ipcc file that will enable internet tethering (only for mac, no windows drivers), and enable mms function (struggling to make it work, mms option is available in messaging, but won't send/receive properly)

is your dev friend ok with sharing his access details then?
 
Membership gives access to all beta's, the dev sdk, and ability to publish to appstore, if u publish a paid app, revenue gets transferred to the acount registered to the dev profile monthly per region

Mms and tethering works if you update the phone with the right carrier bundle, email me at my username @ gmail.com, I'll send u the ipcc
 
Well he just puts you o his Developer handset list. Can u give me that .ipcc file plz ? Will be really cool to try it.

So in other words, the funds will get transferred to the same dude we're paying $10 to? Not really a benefit..

Do we get our own username and password login or what for the dev site?

How comes we have to pay also? Just as a convenience fee or something? Cos surely it doesn't cost them to add a handset to their dev account?

Just don't see what we're paying R100 odd rand for..
 
Well, morkans'kk option sounds like we all get access to a dev account, saunj09's option sounds like just a listing as a dev device on another account

I'd go for morkans' offer, otherwise take the 6 guys we have and we create one, I'll create it with a us paypal account if everyone's agreeing to pitch in, then I publish the user and password for the dev profile to members, they do what they want, we can also sell our remaining dev device profiles for say 5 us$ and split the proceeds? Easy to afministrate as all members can see how many devices listed

let me know if the 6 guys are in, and if I should create or someone else wants to, but seriously, let's stop speculating and do already, I'm already on 3.0, paid 10 bucks for a dev listing, still want to get this going though so I'll pitch equally
 
Well you need to have an iPhone UDID on a dev account for the phone to activate. I downloaded 3.0 through a torrent and put it on my phone. I thought that you could just activate it bu you cant and have to have the phones UDID on the account otherwise it says "We are unable to complete your activation at this time" and it gives a whole thing on how you need to be a dev. So no you dont have access to the account , but what diference does that make? from what i hear you guys just want acess to 3.0? And your phone will be on his account for Life so you have access to all the future Betas. If you can get together and make an account let me know caus im also in although its gonna be quite a mission to do it, seeing you have got to
fax them a whole form etc. But ye, let me know caus il contribute aswell
