Star6 - iphone music instrument

This new App looks pretty amazing. It's a sample based music instrument, where you can sequence samples in real time, while using the iPhone's accelerometer to change parameters.


Also, if it floats your boat, check out one of the App designer's wonderfully crazy music (Jason Forest, aka Donna Summer), he's a stalwart master in the Mashup Music scene.

no need in updating to 3.0.1. The hack is still not fixed. Personally i would say dont waste your time!
 
Greetings Guys.

I am now the proud owner of a pair of Iphones; one 3G and one 3GS. The shop assistant told me that the 3G does not yet have OS3 installed. Now I just have a question:

From the posts here I assume it would not be wise to upgrade to 3.0.1. How would I update to 3.0 and not 3.0.1 when first connecting the phone to Itunes 8.2?

You can't do that i think. There is no problem going to 3.0.1 - its just us who have upgraded to 3.0 its not worth the effort (or bandwidth) to upgrade to 3.0.1 - we'd rather wait for 3.1.

Strange... all the new 3G stock should come with 3.0, mine did, but if it's not 3.0 just update to 3.0.1 anyway, if it's 3.0 then don't bother updating it's not a major update.

I'm on 3.0.1 now and have no issues though.
 
Hey guys. Does anyone know what settings to set in order to use mxit without being connected to either Wifi or 3G (i.a.w how do I set my GPRS?)

Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network >

Set APN under "Cellular Data" to "internet" or "iphone.vodacom.za" , whichever one works for you.

That's it.

Just update to the latest. Its not going to be a problem. The only problem you may encounter is if you want to jailbreak the phones. If you are going to use redsn0w you will need OS3 with can be downloaded here:

Is there a Vodacom rep on this forum? If so best they have a talk with their so called "customer care" support crew! This morning for some unknown reason MMS stopped working on my iPhone, all settings still the same, I phone 111, follow the prompts for MMS, get an "operator" who then proceeds to tell me, that Vodacom does not support MMS and they do not support the iPhone either!!! WTF, I F'ing give up with these palookas!!! Anyone who can shed any light on this please let me know, e-mail dat etc works fine via 3G, edge etc, but MMS just died!

If anyone does hear of/see /get a black 32gig 3gs from Vodacom (im due for an upgrade) please let me know.

Waiting for this phone has been a lesson in patience...

If you read back on this thread you'll see that MMS does not work properly with the current vodacom IPCC file on the phone - It has to do with the changing of the APN to receive and send MMS's - especially if you have 3g enabled and in a 3g reception area - Vodacom will only support MMS on the 3.1 software due out soon.

I use SwirlyMMS and it works fine although its a paid app - so if you can't wait, get SwirlyMMS via Cydia.
 
I have read back on this thread (read the whole thread acctually) the thing is MMS was working 100% since the upgrade to 3.0 but all of a sudden it stopped. It worked with 3G and EDGE before. Now it gets to +-90% and then stops, with the try again message.
 
My MMS is still working 100%. Just tested it now.

I'm using OS 3 on an iPhone 3G 16GB.
 
Still no joy, VODACOM is doing something as every time you reset network settings different details get pulled through???
