Is there any place to download the iphone firmware 3.0.1 & 3.0 on local bandwidth?

yes, from Apple's servers.

I'm on local right now & have tried using the "update" method in itunes to download 3.0.1, but it just times out. Is there a direct link to the file? I found one for 3.0, but not for 3.0.1.

Thanks for all your help.

Official SA weather app released

The SA Weather Service appears to have released an official weather app for the iPhone WeatherZA on the iTunes store - looks nice but its for sale @ $0.99. Will check it out.

Personally I just load up this page: http://dev2.weathersa.co.za/Mobile.asp and then pick your city and bookmark that. Cheaper - hee hee.
You could probably create a link to that on your home screen if you wanted, I've not bothered with that though.

Nice - thanks for that. (just press + when in the browser and click 'add to home screen' and your icon is there.

I see however they say there that it is free atm but might be charged for in future or with ads.

+1

it's far more accurate than the official weather app that sources from Yahoo.

Glad it was of some use. I'd trust the WeatherSA site more than any other as it is the most reliable I've found, being who they are I would expect. Pretty sure SABC news etc. all get from them. I even use the mobile formatted web site on my desktop machine as their normal site is way overboard if you just want to see the temperatures.

So Tom tom is a bust..
I dont know about you guys but Sygic seems pretty decent.
What about Navigon? any way of getting SA maps onto there?

Roger that - weatherbug is also a bit of a crock even though they say they get their data from SAWB.

Saw that, it is brilliant - but I dont like themes that uses categories and I assume this one will be no different. It is also not going to be easy to set up unless he writes some type of installer or something.

Took me a little bit of tweaking, and installed no problem. Looks really great :)
