Was thinking the same thing. I can also not get Stanza to sync new books to the iPhone either - just says 'sync' and then nothing.. obviously will have to wait for an iOS4 compatible version.

EDIT: Ok it's taking forever.. Just use one of these from xsellzie - http://xsellize.com/topic/69176-custom-3gs-40-gm-40-activated-unactivated/. You'll want the NOT-ACTIVATED if you are factory unlocked.

I shall have in my hands by July 2nd :) Went for the 16GB this time as I never used the extra space of the 32GB of my ex-3GS :)

where you getting it from fx? did you see canada is selling them officially unlocked? my AT&T one delivers on the 24'th, can't wait :)

iBooks doesn't come with the firmware, it installs from the app store, and I'm thinking they'll only make that available on the day OS4 officially launches... not beta

it will be for os4 only, but will install on any IOS device, from the first iPod touch through to the iPhone 4

fx, you sure that will work? if i remember correct you can only restore custom firmware if your'e already pwned? or am I missing something? i restored the custom 4.0 to my 3Gs with cydia already on it, but I restored an already jailbroken device...?
 
I've downloaded and installed iTunes 9.2, downloaded the link for iOS4, SHIFT + Restore to load iOS4 - and then I just get error 3014. Dammit. I am missing something.*

*Most probably cos I dont have a dev account. Ag screw it, I'll have to wait till iOS4 comes out. *sigh*

Honestly, no point in stalling the GM now - the official release is on Monday...
 
hey all.

i'm getting my iphone from the UK. they are also seeling it "sim-free" as they call it (aka unlocked)

theron i think you may be right about the custom firmware thing, but if "pwnd" means having used pwnage to jb, then i didn't use it, used blackra1n think. so maybe it's if you were already jailbroken?> i dunno..this stuff can get very confusing
 
Hey fxit

You buying straight from apple, or some other UK site? What is the cost. I have an upgrade coming in august, so I can either stay with MTN (and hope they get the iphone 4), or get the new phone from overseas, or port to vodacom in November and pay a ridiculous for the phone...choices...choices..choices

Yup, gathered that - "Patience is a virtue" - wonder if it'l be able to replace stanza - doubt it though, most of my ebooks are in .lit format.
