Hey guys what videorecorder app should I use that is really good?
Cycorder
My boss is interested in getting one, had a guy from vodacom here last week (boss called me into the discussion), firstly, the guy was TOTALLY against the iphone, and also said they are not allowed to sell the iPhone cash. They have to convince people to take it on contract, as the profit margin is too low on a cash sale. Also on contracts, Voda pays apple R149pm per iPhone
the iPhone is a cool piece of gadgetry, but as a business phone not the best out there. i mean most bosses can't even set the time on a vcr & to expect them to be able to use the on-screen keyboard is a bit of a stretch.
the salesman was proli rite to suggest not to get an iPhone if this was for biz use whatever his motivation is. unless ur boss wants a phone to play with![]()
whats DFU restore & quickpwn?
*Hint - i have the iPhone, my boss is the one looking to buy one.here's a thought
vodacom fixed a price for the iPhone when the rand was around 6.90 to the US$, now they can't exactly go and double that price seeing as they buying it at a much higher exchange rate, can they? so typically i don't think they're making a lot of money out of the iphone
that aside, i doubt weather ANY sales rep for vodacom gives a flying f@(#$ about weather vodacom makes money out of a phone or not, they get commision on contracts they sign, regardless of what phone is attached to it.
as for marketing, i disagree, they had quite a brilliant marketing campaign, the whole, hush hush then boom launch worked quite well, the whole country knew exactly when the phone was launching, purely because they "didnt' want anyone to know", and advertising is still ongoing
i really think you're suffering from a retarded sales person, they talk the phone down because it cant mms or be usd as a 3G modem, because they all went to the exact same training seminaar and repeated nicely what the presenter said....
basically, if you're tech savy enough to know what you're doing when you jailbreak and use non-app store apps, get the iphone, it's so much more than anything else on the market, if on the other hand, u generally don't know how to sync your calendar and contacts with whatever phone you currently have, stay away, you won't really find benefit from the phone for it's price
i absolutely love mine
Well I wouldnt personally say that the blackberry is better if one of the main reasons is for email. Yes, it gets your email etc, keeps it on the phone, BUT the fw it comes with doesnt even display html email, which I personally find VERY annoying.i don't disagree with what the iPhone can do.
it is it's suitability as a biz device that i am questioning. if it is horses for courses then the blackberry or similar is a better device 4 "bosses".
I upgraded my 2G iPhone to the 3G version but I have MEGA reception problems with it now. Does anyone have the same prob?
I had this on the 2G until I did an upgrade to the 2.0.2 firmware then all was well. Any advice?
Guys, I want to get an extra charger to keep at work.
The istore sells the official charger for R 329, which is a bit pricey.
Could anyone recommend a reliable cheaper 3rd party charger? I only care about the USB cable, don't need something to plug into a wall. I think I saw a Capdase charger at Look and Listen for R 150 - anyone have one of those?
So fsckn AT&T are to be blamed for not allowing us to tether?http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=2120Issues with AT&’s cellular network, and extreme caution is preventing an official iPhone tethering plan from progressing, according to a MacBlogz report.
According to a colleague of mine who works with AT&T (who has been fairly accurate in the past), Apple and AT&T have been developing an iPhone tethering plan, similar to that allowed for Blackberry users. The reason we haven’t heard or seen anything about it, is because AT&T is being extremely paranoid of how the service will run on their network. “Since I’ve worked here, I’ve never seen them be so worried about legalities,” my colleague explained. Regarding the service being available to Blackberry users, he says that it’s a different situation. Blackberry users haven’t slammed AT&T’s network by the millions in one quarter, in such large rushes. “Regardless of how many billions of dollars AT&T pours into their 3G network, it hasn’t been stable enough to handle all you iPhone users,” he explained.
MacBlogz has confirmed that Apple and AT&T are indeed working on it but it has been delayed due to lack of confidence in the network should a large percentage of iPhone users begin using the service.
Have you found the STOCKS app to be a bit useless in SA apart from seeing how the o/seas markets are crashing - this app can show currency rates as well. Just input the code e.g. USDZAR=X and it shows an up to date (close enough) rate for the Rand to the USD rate.
Great tip thanks for this.
I noticed that the iphone.vodacom.za APN has been activated on my sim now interestingly, you can view the services activated on your sim by creating an account with vodacom4me.
