Anyone using IntelligentShare?
I downloaded it, media is shared on my pc (vista) and WMP11 does detect my phone as a device it can share media to.But running the app on my phone shows the splash, UPnp started, but nothing more. Shouldn't it give me the media shared from WMP? Or am i missing the point of the app?

could it be a firewall is blocking access?

third party/windows firewall
 
Howzit guys, how do resolve the no service issue? This thread is just way to long to try and find it and search not helping :) jailbroke the phone, using iclarify guide...

Winterboard is a weird little app... It gives issues with certain phones whilst working 100% fine with others....

So if you don't restoring your phone, it's worth giving a shot....

I haven't heard any issues from Customize...

No service issue? It's only happened to me once, and I restarted the phone and it worked.

If this doesn't work, i would recommend a restore...

Have you found the STOCKS app to be a bit useless in SA apart from seeing how the o/seas markets are crashing - this app can show currency rates as well. Just input the code e.g. USDZAR=X and it shows an up to date (close enough) rate for the Rand to the USD rate. (the other way round shows USD to Rand rate (ZARUSD=X)
I have set up the following codes for my daily use:
USDZAR=X (US dollar)
EURZAR=X (Euro)
GBPZAR=X (British pound)
AUDZAR=X (Australian dollar)
You can basically put any currency in based on the international 3 digit currency codes.
Now the stocks app is of use to me when ordering stuff offshore.

hi guys idont know if you okes know but i read on the dev teams site that they have successfully broken into the iphone 3g baseband there is a video up and it seems that the unlocking software is coming soon. eat that steve

I don't think this is confirmed yet... According to iClarified:

he iPhone Dev-Team has posted a demo video of a new 3G Baseband Tool in action.

The video shows a dev team member connecting to the iPhone 3G via SSH. The Kernel version is then displayed and then they connect to the baseband. The baseband information is displayed and then the DevTeam's PMB8878 baseband tool is invoked using a custom AT command.

This is definite progress towards an unlock... You can view the video below!

So we should have an unlock for 3G pretty soon. Hopefully..
 
Update on Fring

Since Fring doesn't allow you to use your network as a gateway and the iPhone doesn't allow you to run application in the background i decided to figure out a way how to work around this...

Simple:

Download Fring

Download Backgrounder & VoIP3G in Cydia and you are all good to go! ;)

VoIP3G allows you to use your network as a gateway not only Wi-Fi...

Or you can just download the patched fring from the social group ;)
 
well Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is open on my windows firewall, still no luck.Tested on flatmate's pc too, same stuff
 
So... I got my 3G today

... and I can't get reception/service.

Playing around with it, will post back....
