I THINK i know what I did wrong...

Restored to 2.1 and immediaetely pwned it with Quick Pwn...

I'm going to try this: Restore 2.1 -> Activate -> Reboot -> Then QuickPwn..

Hopefully this works - otherwise i'm sending it back tomorrow. I was told I have a 48 hour return policy....

:D

I was right....

Now...Something very weird I noticed. Where ever there is no 3G reception the I have 'No Service' message. Once I disable 3G, my reception comes back! Looking into this...

anyone got UPnPAVRenderer working yet? Seems its not my firewall fxit. Even switched it off and had no luck

huh..since when did you have a 3G iPhone?

:( no fair

My old man is an Onyx member at Nashua Mobile, so every year he is offered any phone of his choice for free.. (no pay in).

He doesn't like the 3G one (he thinks its cheap and all with the plastic cover) and we swapped :D

I won't lie, I miss the 2G already :( and besides I hardly ever have 3G signal where I am...

haha jokes, i love my 2G too :)

never even used 3G on my old nokia to be honest. so expensive as well..

Now now boys - no infighting allowed between the iPhone 2G and 3G  - we only fight with nokias, SE and WM mobiles.

Exactly!

I'm always connected to my home network anyway...

Seems like DevTeam are pretty close to releasing the 3G unlock... I've been reading on Hackint0sh... All they need to do now is come up with the unlock code and its a sealed deal! :)

ok, i need to update my dads iphone, then jailbreak. he has special network settings set up though for a microsoft exchange mail server, and tons of contacts and smses, was just wondering if a backup will store all of this? I don't want to lose all his info

Yes it will....

And once you have set up his Exchange it will just sync to check that everything is up to date. I know this cos I did it on my dad's iPhone last night and all his contacts, mails and calendar items were synchronised through the exchange. Backup will save his SMS too.

SBSettings 0.92
SBSettings is a replacement for BossPrefs. It moves your important toggles directly into Springboard where they are always available instantly even while other apps are running.

Usage:
- Slide across statusbar to show the window. (Tap once with two fingers seems to work also) Tap the close button to dismiss the window.
- The big buttons are toggles. Red is “OFF” Green is “ON”.
- The “more” button brings up the settings app which lets you configure which settings you want available, hide icons, and other bossprefs like things.
- The “refresh” button will refresh the state of the icons in case it gets out of sync.

Changelog:
- Disabled the app while in call. It was too easy to brush against your face and inadvertantly call up the GUI. Then again bump a toggle with your face such as EDGE or 3G and kill your call.
- Fixed security hole by disabling SBSettings when device is locked with a passcode on the lockscreen. SBSettings will still load when on lock screen but no passcode is entered.
- Added reboot / power to the power button by massive request. (I still see no use for reboot but you guys win).
- Added “Lock” to the power menu! (OK this is exciting for me because I tried to do this in BossPrefs and never found a way).
- Reworked SSH toggle. It’s an app so if another app is running it wouldn’t work but the toggle would turn colors. This has been modified to kill the top running app if it is running so it works now. You guys have no idea how problematic SSH toggle is in this. It requires root permissions but springboard runs as mobile.
- The “more” button launches an app. If another app is running, this wouldnt be able to launch. Now if another app is running, it shows a red “no use” circle indicating that you cannot launch the more app.

In the near future BigBoss plans to look into:
1) VPN Toggle (although not sure how to test this since I have no VPN).
2) Plugin interface
3) Theme interface.

Hey guys could you perhaps help me quick?

My modem can broadcast wifi and my iphone is picking it up tho need a password to use it. My internet password doesn't work and setup on my modem doesn't give me a password for wireless, is there a way to set/change it? I've tried admin default etc

do broadband modem??

first of all, it's a wireless router, not a modem

second, look on the bottom of the routher, there's a label with i think 3 fields on it, one of them is "wireless key" or something similar, that's the password

ps, it's case sensitive

Looks like its a WEP/WPA Password..

Look in the security settings of your router by typing the routers IP address into internet explorer..

To get to the router settings, the IP should be something like 10.0.0.2/192.168.2.1

Go to start, run, cmd

type ipconfig, the "Default Gateway" is the IP address you need to type into Internet Explorer.

G2g, will help you later if you arent sorted by then

ummmm, any know how to share a usb iburst connection over ad hoc wifi? and anyone know of an application that gives a horizontal keyboard layout for smses? other than irealsms, since it costs $7.5

Hi Guys

I have setup my iphone 3g to receive mail from TelkomSA etc and all work fine with receiving mail, but when I try to send mail from my iPhone, I keep on getting an error message that the Receipient adress is not valid.
I verified that the SMTP settings used is the same as configured in Outlook etc.

Any ideas?

You need to use your mobile service provider's SMTP server e.g. smtp.vodacom.co.za (I think it is)
