ummmm, any know how to share a usb iburst connection over ad hoc wifi? and anyone know of an application that gives a horizontal keyboard layout for smses? other than irealsms, since it costs $7.5

With a Mac you can very easily ;) I tried doing it with Vista and an HP laptot - and for the life of me I couldn't get this simple procedure done! Tried several times and gave up, it kept on disconnecting the Wifi every time I tried accessing the Internet on the iPhone...

And no horizontal view for SMS, only for Mail and Safari. Why would one want horizontal view for SMS - i type quicker with 1 thumb...

SBSettings 0.92

Just downloaded this...VERY cool guys, be sure to grab it!! :)

This app is AWESOME!!! Whilst in Safari/Cydia I can quickly turn on 3G or Wifi to download what I need and then quickly turn em off to save battery :D

I also use it to hide certain apps on my SB, such as iTunes, YouTube, Stocks and AppStore...

Another cool app is LockDockBar. It places the apps that you have in the dock into the Lock Screen for quick access.....

3G chows a hell of a lot of battery! It's only 4pm and my battery is dead!

Check that - I also installed SBS and my battery drained like 50% in 3 hours - I usually run 3G all day at work w/o issues and get about 10% to 15 % drain - so I'm thinking this app is responsible - I have uninstalled it - will stick to BossPrefs for the time being.

So you think it's the app that's responsible? Weird....

I guess you right, since it was my first day using the 3G iPhone I couldn't tell what was the root of the batt drain...

After doing a quick Google search, i stumbled upon quite a few ppl complaining about battery life. It's probably cause it's always running in the background on the MobileSubstrate....

Thanks definitely gonna use those, but looking more for a "due date" sort of thing, like it tells you "this project is due on this day"... If you know what I mean...

HomeDo looks pretty good gonna try that out.

EDIT: ...ornot. TheMonkey'sball doesn't have it...

Looks like its a WEP/WPA Password..

Look in the security settings of your router by typing the routers IP address into internet explorer..

To get to the router settings, the IP should be something like 10.0.0.2/192.168.2.1

Go to start, run, cmd

type ipconfig, the "Default Gateway" is the IP address you need to type into Internet Explorer.

G2g, will help you later if you arent sorted by then

The WPA key I found under my modem worked when I used caps thanks :p

Cyberduck on iPhone 3G Problems

Hi.I'm a newbie so please don't nuke me:( I'm just totally frustrated right now...I used Quickpwn to jailbreak my phone (there's installer and cydia on the springboard).I installed SSH via cydia. I can view the contents of my phone from Cyberduck... I copied an .app file I downloaded a while ago into the /applications folder, right clicked on it and chose 'info', and set the permissions to all ticks (777). But it doesn't show up on the springboard, even after rebooting the phone. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks to anyone who can help me out...

What's the .app?
How long ago did you download it?
What firmware are you on now?

Chances are it was for a pre 2.x iPhone Firmware, and it isnt compatible with your current firmware.

Countdown does exactly that... For example: I have 7 hours 27 minute and 40 seconds remaining till I write my exam

That reminds me, I shouldn't be on MyADSL!!

Later dudes!

I've got a iPhone 3G Firmware 2.1. The .app is called Bejeweled 2.

Have you tried 775? Have you installed the MobileInstallation patch for 2.1?

If I were you I would refrain from using 'crkd' .app files. Rather look for the crkd .ipa file ad install via iTunes.

contacts you back up using itunes sync settings, on the device somewhere you configure it to sync to your outlook

alternatively you can sync your contacts via exchange active sync, if you have an exchange server email account, you do this on your phones' settings ->email accounts, add the account, and set it to sync contacts via exchange, make sure your contacts are already on you email account before you do this, otherwise u loose them

sms' back themselves up everytime you sync with itunes, itunes creates a backup on your phone, but you can't read you sms' on your computer, only in the event of loosing your sms' on the phone can you restore the backup to your phone

ps, before starting all this, make sure you make a backup of your phone using itunes, you'll figure it all out eventually, just backup, and then play with the thing till u get it

Yep, or just right click your iPhone icon in iTunes and choose 'backup'.
