Yip, some of the games are amazing, like you said, its not easy testing all the features on the iphone in minutes of handle. Things that people often miss, are the motion sensors in the phone, the proximity sensor that picks up when your phone is next to your ear and when its not, as well as the light sensor, that actually brighten the display when it gets darker

And Shazam is the best app ever

I just wish, they would make more custom icons for ireal, I have the coolest icon set on my phone, even swirly has its own custom set, except ireal, and its standing out like a sore thumb, so I chucked them all in folders (even the folders have custom icons!!!)

you can change the icon manually, I usually change it to the iphone's own sms app's icon, with iphone browser, just replace the icon.png file in the application's folder with the one from apple's mobile sms app

best iPhone game in my opinion, sim city (usa app store), close second, crash bandicoot cart (also usa app store)

Yip, did it last night, works like a charm. Has anyone changed their carrier logo successfully? Not just adding a name, but adding a logo? I don't know if something is blocking my logos like MIME or perhaps supreme preferences, but even an at&t logo, exactly like they explained does not show.

I have to say, I am not addicted to the "theme-ing" part of the phone, created the coolest theme for myself

Haven't tried it on afrikaans songs yet, but I have read reviews of people stating that it identified indian as well as arabian music, should actually try some afrikaans songs and see (but dont think so), of the 8 songs I tried it could not identify 2 of them, which was obscure metal songs.

Hell one day I tested it, and as I was testing it, my wife was watching that abba movie, mamma mia in the other room, it actually picked up one of the songs, and did not list the artist as abba, oh now, it actually listed the actors that sang the song
 
Hi Guys

My iPhone used to be unlocked with a TurboSim, however i accidently upgraded to v2.2 and it no longer works; does anyone if there has been fix? Can't seem to find anything.

Just want to check this with you:

I had never jailbroken this iPhone before, so I would have to 1) rejailbreak it using Quickpwn.. 2) install yellowsn0w and i will now have a software unlocked phone.. correct??

Just one thing that bothers me, is that my iPhone totally does not get past the "Itunes and charger logos" and I can only get to the emergency calls menu....

If I had to restore it and rejailbreak it, would I be able to get to cydia to download yellowsn0w?

unfortunately I am a noob myself when it comes to unlocking the phone, but you should be able to download it from cydia after you have used quickpwn, a luocked phone usually means that you can't make calls but you can still connect to the internet on the phone and download apps.

And if I am wrong, then you are no worse off, then maybe re-install your previous version of the firmware, am pretty sure you will be able to find it on the internet
 
Hmmm ok, this is all a bit too much over my head.

At the moment i'm looking at the jailbreak guide for v2.2

At one of the steps it says "Choose restore option" from iTunes... but I cant choose this as iTunes says I have an unsupported sim. Is it correct in assuming that i can skip this step cos I already have v2.2??

The worrying thing now is that if I screw up, I'm not sure if I can go back seeing as I don't have the restore function in iTunes..

Does anyone know of a place in JHB that I could take the iPhone to??

You are already on 2.2 so don't worry about that.. Is it a 2G or 3G iPhone?

Off topic: I see there is a v2.2 TurboSim out, does anyone know if they are available locally?? And perhaps the cost?

Have no idea, since iphones available in south africa does not need to be unlocked, but have heard only good things about yellowsnow.

Well think on the bright side, worst thing that can happen, you have to reinstall the software, luckily itunes backup everything from applestore as well as sms, settings and contacts
