Had a mirror finish screen protector but removed it after a day or 2 - you could clearly see there was something over the screen when it is lit up and it irritated the **** out of me. Went for a clear one after that and its been on since i got the phone.

Ah, cool. I'm glad I went with it then.

i was actually looking just for something to change whats playing on my itunes... my computer is in my bedroom but i have speakers throughout my flat, so it'd be awesome to control my itunes from the livingroom or whatever... like you can with Remote... except i dont have WiFi, so i was looking to do it over 3G or something...

get a wifi card for the computer in your bedroom, and just host a p2p network, the remote app is really cool, works exactly like the phone's ipod app, only, the music is played by the computer, really is worth the effort, i run my HTPC like that

Hi I have asked this question before and have seen others do the same, but i didn't see any simple answer!
here is it:
If my numbers are stored in the following format: +2783... and some calls me, his name doesn't appear on the screen. Contrastly, If I receive an sms from the same person, his name will show. But If I have someone's no. in the normal format: 083... then I.D. reflects when he calls but not in sms!
Come on you iwizards! give us a solution...

Thanx anyway.

In Cydia search for "Format Fix"

I use an app called mccall show (it has a database for each country on cydia), works like a charm, has all the dialing codes of SA in the sa database so it shows the name of the city/town you are dailing, but again, not freeware, but is something like $4

hmmm... i have a wifi card installed which i bought for like R150, which i use when i go home (we have wfif there)
would this work? i was under the impression that you needed a wifi router in order to create a wifi network?
EDIT:
seems i forgot my antennae at home, can i just use a wifi USB dongle?

It depends - some dongles you can create an access point - depends on the software. The PSP Thrustmaster dongle creates an access point which I use the iPhone on

Hello.
I have downloaded the firmware software an want to update as phone can be buggy at times.

However I cannot find any Samsung software for the i900 that will allow me to do a backup of all my messages and contacts.
Active sync doesnt seem to offer much.

Any suggestions appreciated!

You dong neef a wifi hotspot, or a dongle that simulates one, in windows, set up a Computer to Computer network, and share your internet connection over tour wifi, then the iPhone will pick up the network under wifi settings

You don't need a wifi hotspot, or a dongle that simulates one, in windows, set up a Computer to Computer network, select open and wep, provide a password/key and then share your internet connection over wifi, then the iPhone will pick up the network under wifi settings

Hey... wanted to ask... a friend of mine picked up the old iphone (no 3g), second hand last week.... does this forum relate to that phone? or are they too different to do the stuff mentioned on this forum?

Apps

Hi guys,i found a website which hosts a large number of unsigned apps for the iphone. These apps can be downloaded as .IPA files, and once you double click them they are automatically added to your itunes applications list.
However your phone must be jail broken for these apps to be able to install, and you must have the mobile installation patch installed as well, which can be obtained from Cydia.

Here is the link http://appulo.us/appdb/

Few examples of what you can find there :
Brothers in arms - Hour of heros
Silent Hill
Spore

They have a very big database.
Check it out.
