would love to know if it works on the os 3.0, don't have a mac though, so can't test ;(

Just installed it on the mac, very nice - lists all the cydia apps and can install directly to the iPhone - have not enabled that yet as it needs a license purchased to install apps. Is handy just to see what is new though.

Ripdev are just in it for the $$...

For $7 I rather just buy more biteSMS credit and use Cydia directly from the iPhone...

I dunno, how many times have you had to download all your cydia and installer apps again after a restore? Even if something like aptbackup makes it easier, bandwidth still costs money right?

aptbackup does make it easier.. Gee dude I really don't think 10MB of Cydia apps is going to take a chunk out of my 5GB cap...

I'm excited to get into the dev program. Hopefully they cal you by tomorrow :D

Can I download the SDK in the time being?

Hello!

I installed firmware 2.2.1 and jailbreaked successfully...

But..

My itunes detects my iphone but for some reason I can't restore or update?

Everytime I start open itunes I can see my phone under devices but can't backup or sync...

You'll have to torrent it, the profile can't log in yet, that will only happen after approval i'm afraid

Haha!! Shame Roland - i think you have mentioned it 3 times today alone!

That is fine with me, I don't really care about tethering as I have a 3G modem.

So where do you enter your MMS settings then?

it's in the ipcc file I'll send you guys, consists of 2 xml files that contain all the config

I guess that's better as it won't be allowed to be in the AppStore then.

Not going to bother trying it out, never used mxit in my life...

in 3.0 there's push for all apps, so mxit can receive instant messages as push notifications to the phone, then appears the same way an sms does, this happens without the app running in the background (backgrounding affects battery life)

I had this briefly after installing 3.0, itunes gave a message about not being able to contact the software update server

you connected to the net with that computer? I eventually HAD to get the laptop an internet connection before it would do anything but notice that the phone was there

Found the problem...

Copied and pasted this from another forum:

Finally, after searching through all the forums, I have found something that works.
1) Go into your Internet Options
2) Click the Advanced tab
3) Scroll down to Security
4) Uncheck the box labeled "Check for server revocation certificate"

worked perfectly!

happened only at work for me, because the firewall blocks itunes store... lol

I kept getting a -9098 itunes error, luckily I was not the first person to get this..

google ftw :)

I need someone who has swirly mms (vodacom) to test something for me pls??

in your settings, the APN should be "mms.vodacom.net"

change that to "internet" and try to send mms?

if that doesn't work, try using "internet" as apn, and changing the proxy from 196.006.128.013 to 196.006.128.006, or 196.006.128.006:9201, or 196.006.128.006:8080

I'm trying to find a gateway to the mmsc that is accessible through the "internet" apn

yes.. go into itunes....
FIRSTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY change your store from SA to USA..
then start to create a new account and the option of NONE will appear as payment.

If you are still in the ZA store when you try create an account you will have to put in credit card details

Hey Gents

1 Infinite Loop Drive
Cupertino, CA 95014

This does work. :)

Doesn't work. Are you having difficulties sending MMS's? Is it trying to go through the normal 'internet' APN?
