But even if tomtom is released, will there be any advatnage to having the magnetometer of the 3gs or would the 3g work fine?

We don't know yet if TomTom will support the magnetometer - will have to wait and see. Soooooo can't wait for the TomTom app though :D

haven't tried beejive, but also a bit IM+ fanboy... can't wait for meebo thouhg....

Meebo definitely did look good at the WWDC.

As far as the current "pay" versions go - I like BeeJive and IM+ (kinda leaning towards IM+ at the moment though). Agile Messenger - YUCK!! (haven't downloaded it but the screenshots look horrible)

Yeah I also can't wait for Tom Tom - I wonder what it is going to cost though.

thanx, really cool theme...

how do i get the "slide to unlock" text back though?? i like making the slide dock transparent and having just the slider there, any good suggestions for custom "slide to unlock" text? can't seem to find any :(

Good question - I'd also like the text back, never seen anything like that around though. There are a different sliders for answering calls if I remember correctly (separate download from main theme.)

For anyone who is interested (and can afford the 3G costs or has a data bundle) there is a new app out called 3g Unrestrictor (on Cydia for Jailbroken iPhones, costs $2) which is a better version of the VoipOver3G app, which will allow apps that only work on WiFi to work on 3G. I never said use it for VOIP though ..... that's up to you if you feel you want to take the chance incase anyone spots and you get a moerse bill or something - LOL. I haven't tried it out but will do sometime.

I plan to buy the app as well as the windscreen cradle from TomTom, apparently the cradle will boost the GPS and I think it may have an in-built magno :) either way TomTom products are pretty decent and I can't seem to find a decent windscreen mount kit for my iPhone, so the TOmTom route is the way I will go (hey I made a pun :) )

I am experiencing a major problem

I just jail breaked my iPhone 3G running OS3.
However, when i put in my SIM Card it does not pick up any network signal. I tried the sim card in my other phone and it worked perfectly!

Help! Urgently

So about that iphone 3G I found, went to the cop shop to make a statement.
No details on Sim- phone is blank. Old number doesnt exist (found it on the actual sim).
Looks brand new - 16 gig one.

Did they actually write their number on the SIM? To my knowledge, only SIM numbers or printed on the SIM and not the actual phone number...
Well, seems like you might have scored an iPhone (if it doesn't get blacklisted, that is) ;)

'Glasklart' theme: awesome! Stumbled upon it accidentally as one does and have just never wanted it to look any different to that.

If I get bored - just change the BG and its like a totally new theme :)

I JUST now installed the theme and it is AWESOME wow my Liverpool background has NEVER looked this good. Now if I can only get the Liverpool theme song as my ringtone that would be a little bit of heaven :p

Great news - Swirly has fixed the problem relating to sending and receiving MMS's when on a 3G tower - update released this yesterday. Apparently it related to push notification api or something - whatever, it is working on 3G now.

You have not supplied all of the relevant info so this may be off point, however...

Most likely: you have a Vodacom (legitimately) activated iPhone 3G and you did not deselect 'Activate phone' in the general settings section in the pwnage tool before building the .IPSW.

Do the whole jailbreak again, this time deselect 'Activate phone' in the general settings section, once you phone is restored allow iTunes to activate it as per usual.

Not really iPhone related, but dead here in Midrand too...

True true, but I was playing around on my phone with the MS, so was worried that it might be because of my tinkering....so atleast its partly in the right section

So I went to marcf site and followed the points to enable mms on my phone. All the settings appear on the phone and i am able to send mms, but dont seem to able to receive.

If I send myself an mms of the vodacom4me site it comes through. I have asked someone on mtn and cell c to send one. 4 hours later and im still waiting for it.

My device settings are as follows:

iPhone 3G with OS3.0 jailbroken
3G enabled
Call data: iphone.vodacom.za
MMS: mm.vodacom.net

Could it just be the network and would I have to change my device setup on the vodacom4me site to be an iphone?

On another note, my 3G seems very unstable at times. Is this a common problem?

Thanks in advance!
