Thought it might be something like that. Thanx fxit_man - you a champ! Just SSH'd over the problematic extracted files to test it and they work now.

CameraRoll.app is still f8cked though. But I think it's related to that patch that enables video editing/trimming on my 3G.

Surely copying over just the Media/DCIM folder would do the job?

Not going to try it - still want to try fix my CameraRoll.app.... I've tried, but then the thumbnails don't work. Everytime I take a picture it doesn't add it to the cameraroll..

White thumbnails is because you need to copy the .MISC folder as well (this contains the info.plist which links each .thm to each image.)

For the picture not adding to camera roll, still sounds like an ownership error.

Dunno what app the Camera is as there is no specific "Camera.app" as such that we can check ownership of.

If you wanna test out something then try set mobile ownership on everything in the var folder via the following command:

They are legit. Two of my friends have used them. One paid R1300 and the other R2200 for his iPhone.

Both my friends told me their service was horrible and took over 1.5 weeks to fix the devices.

I do know WW Computers in Cresta are quite good. They can do it in a hour for you.
 
Has anyone got push notifications working on an unlocked jailbroken iphone 3g?
I used pushfix on cydia, and it worked for a few days, but seems dead now!!

frustrating as hell
 
any1 know why my iphone keeps saying no sim inserted? Randomly says no sim inserted and i gotta reset it every time... hardware fault or virgin mobile?

Well mine works for IM+, but I don't use social networking apps that much, so after 3 days it automatically disconnects, and I completely forget about it, only to log in again and then get this barrage of push notifications
 
Little help

Hey might be a silly question but I'm new to the whole jailbroken thing. I have both appsync and installious installed on my phone, i don't ever use installious though i just download the app on the pc add it to itunes and sync. Can i remove installious without messing up the app sync process? Bascially do they work together or do i only need installious if i wanna add cracked apps from the phone?

You can remove installous, just keep appsync. yes, installous is only if you want to download the .ipa from the phone e.g. when you come accross an unsecured access point ;)

Thanks fxit_man now i can take it off, i don't like it on people think i'm installing cracked iphone games. :)

you didn't hactivate you phone, you just jailbroke, he's probably got one of the cheap imports
