What about trying some of that stuff these use for cracked windscreens?

and in respect of the SPECK HardCandy case, I bought another one today for the missus :)

i went to get one today and they wanted to charge me R300. So i left. lol

R300 vs the expense of repairing the screen or case... worth it in my opinion, but then again I paid R240 :)

Has anyone had problems getting their GPS signal to locate you at all? Just upgraded to the 3g, bought it used without a warranty at a large discount, but think I might have got burned. Everything works great, but I can't get a gps signal. Confirmed that everything was working when I got it, but didn't check the GPS. Google maps will find me to within a half kilometer, tried Sygic and drove around the southern peninsula the other day for 45 minutes and it never found a signal. let it sit out on my deck for 30 minutes & it didn't find a signal. Have tried a couple other things I saw online with no luck either. Anyone had a similar experience and found a way to get it to work?

Nope, my GPS signal is fine, the longest it has taken Sygic to find me, was about 5 minutes.

Remember, "Google maps", also use cell towers to find your location, that is why its so quick.

Best advice is just do not move while sygic is searching for a signal (dumb advice, but I got it from their site)

Your phone sounds faulty to me. Stupid question, but have you done a soft reset on your phone? (Holding down the power and home key till it reboots)

I'm off to France with the family soon, and was wondering if there is/what the best direction software is for the iphone in the hopes that we don't get lost with our rental car in some obscure, tiny village. Any thoughts?

Just remember to get something that does not require an internet connection (offline maps). Data roaming is VERY expensive - anything from R17 - R90 a mb!!:eek:

I was actually going to ask about that as well. I haven't been overseas since I first came here when i was 13. What do I do to keep in contact with people here. (our housesitters etc.) Do I just tell VIrgin I am going overseas? (NOt to use data roaming. Just for sms and voice, if needed.)

Sorry, just assumed you were with Vodacom or MTN (they both have voice and data roaming in most countries).

You'll have to call Virgin and hear where they have roaming and if they have voice and data there etc.

Ah, cool. My wife has a vodacome phone, so if Virgin gives us hassles we can use that. (Is calling form overseas and sms considered data roaming?)

New theme installed and it is like nothing else, awesome.

Busy tweaking the images myself and seeing what I come up with.

Data roaming is for GPRS and 3G.
Voice and SMS is separate. Check the pricing (it' on the Vodacom website). Calls can get expensive but SMS is reasonable :D

I changed back to standard springboard yesterday, was fun to tweak with the Whitoken theme but until an easier version comes along (without catagories) I prefer the speed over looks.

If you flip through the thread the one guy has done that already, ditches the categories and uses more springboard jumps to have extra pages at the end of the theme for apps, much nicer than the categories app
