go to settings ->messages, turn on delivery reports

doesn't show a report when you sms yourself, only someone else... lol

LOVING IT~!!!

Has anyone been experiencing dropping in calls? I noticed that it does replace the CommCenter.plist which might be the reason. Or was it just coincidence that VC was the reason of drops in calls?

Nothing from my side. All seems to be working well.

I dont seem to experience call drop when I am on 3G. And my 3G is always on, whether it has connectivity to VC is another issue all together...:rolleyes:

I've tried searching this thread but it's just too big.

My question is that I have a iPhone 3GS on MTN and I want to change the carrier text from "MTN-SA" to an image.

I've followed all the previous guides which show you how to make the images, and when what to call them and then where to put them, but the image doesn't replace the std MTN-SA one.

Any ideas?

In order to do this you will need to jailbreak the phone and SSH into the Carrier_Bundles folder.

You will also have to make sure the image is transparent and is the correct resolution.

You can find this somewhere on Google - I am not sure what the correct size needs to be.

What image btw?

This might be a stupid question, and I think I already know the answer to my question, but does MMS work out of the box on the iPhone 3GS OS 3.0.1. I know apple added mms support in OS3, but vodacom probably doesn't support this yet right? So do I need to use swirlyMMS for the time being?

No it doesnt work out the box. And yes you have to use swirly

What do u mean by this exactly? I receive and send MMS's without Swirly?

MMS is not "enabled" out the box from VC like a nokia etc

Some phones work when you manually add the mms settings and some dont. Mine for example doesnt. I could send to VC numbers but could not receive at all.

Thats why I use swirlymms

Oh ok - I understand what he meant by 'out the box'.

I have update the custom.ipcc and seems to be working. I can receive and send to VC. I don't have any friends on MTN anymore so I wouldn't know.

OK I just installed the trail version of swirlyMMS. swirlyMMS disabled the build in MMS feature of OS3, restarted my iphone and then I sent a MMS from www.vodacom4me.co.za to my cellphone, nothing happens in swirlyMMS, but I receive a sms from vodacom saying I should visit a URL to view the mms, so obviously its not working ,what am I missing?

I did enter the swirlyMMS setting as displayed on the first thread...

limnos, does your mms work on your iphone on vodacom network without you having to use swirly?

Damm, I'm still struggling to get swirlyMMS to work? What exactly should happen when a MMS comes through, will swirlyMMS automatically open?

Inside switlyMMS i goto settings and then "Run Settings Wizard". it then detects about 5 vodacom setting profiles, I selected the one that matches the settings on Page1 of this thread. Username + password left black.

I then close swirlyMMS, goto vodacom4me.co.za and then send a free MMS to my phone using the 5 free MMS per day feature, but the MMS comes through on my iphone as a SMS with a URL to the MMS :( What Am I doing wrong? :(

turn off 3G
launch swirly
run the setup wizard to auto configure swirly
send an mms to yourself from the phone, not from vodacom4me

the sms you receive is because mms isn't active on your sim, sending an mms activates it

for smooth mms operation on 3.x, always turn 3G off when sending or receiving mms', you'll see you receive an mms on swirly, but, it doesn't download it yet, so turn off 3G before you launch swirly (sbsettings very usefull for this)
