As you mentioned - the sim card isn't provisioned for MMS... I have found with the new swirlyMMS its not necessary to disable 3g although it does take longer to change the APN to MMS from data.

the sms you receive is because mms isn't active on your sim, sending an mms activates it

for smooth mms operation on 3.x, always turn 3G off when sending or receiving mms', you'll see you receive an mms on swirly, but, it doesn't download it yet, so turn off 3G before you launch swirly (sbsettings very usefull for this)

Dammit, it's it possible to send a mms using the trail version? I installed the trail version, but cannot send a mms, it says I have to purchase a license.. so how on earth am i supposed to see if it works if i cant even try it first... $12 is a lot to pay for something that might not even work.. ;(

Isn't vodacom bringing out support for mms soon?
 
Swirly have no more trial licenses available. Read about it on their forum. So if you want to use it legally, you will need to purchase it. But I agree, why pay for it, if you not sure its going work... But i do have it and it works. Don't know if that answers your question tho.
 
lol, just for argument sake, is it even possible to get a working crack version of swirly? dont they need to register you details in order for the software to work?

Give 111 a call (Vodacom) and tell them to activate MMS on your SIM.

The full SwirlyMMS is available from sites like Xsellize, so if you want, try it out first, then if it works, buy it etc.

OK, I'm not BUD - I'm checking the Music Event on iclarified.com - also released iTunes 9 - redesigned interface and allows you to arrange your apps on your iphone screen before syncing it to the iPhone - looks briliant - will probably only be available later tonight though.
 
Does anyone know of a nice sms app that can send sms'e to multiple recipients? Like sending a group sms...

Yea, i was actually looking for a better way to do this. I want to send a sms to all my contacts informing them of my new cellphone number, so adding 1 for 1 is going to take me forever...
