Yea cant wait for all the reviews and changes made. now just to wait for it to be jailbroken...
 
when is the dev team gonna crack this one? hopefully by next week so when my 3GS arrives it can go straight to 3.1 and not 3.0.1!
 
Got 3.1 up and running!

It has MMS & internet tethering straight out of the box!

Will test tethering tomorrow. ;)

oh, and OS 3.1 feels nippy on my iPhone 3G. :)

Thats great...now just to get it jailbroken...Please also let us know if battery life is any better
 
It seems that redsn0w works on 3.1 as well, just read up on the quickpwn site.

But I will rather wait for a new release of redsn0w from the dev team!
 
My mp3s still sound absolutely fantabulous with my sennheiser earbuds. :)

Shutdown is fast again.

Thank thanks for those, so much easier - now can do the downloads of those at work to save my home bandwidth - LOL !!

Any chance you (or someone) can run a MD5 on the files so I can check they are in tact before using?

Don't think I will update to 3.1 in a big hurry due to a) waiting for DevTeam for JB and b) can't say it has much new/changed that really makes me want to do it in a hurry

You will need to jailbreak again and your Cydia apps will all be gone - your App Store apps will be intact if you do an update via iTunes.

If you do not have an unlocked Vodacom iPhone (iPhone bought locally from VC), you better wait for the Dev Team to release the hacked firmware else your phone will be network locked again and possibly forever.
 
I must admit, iTunes 9 is also very nice. You don't have to sync all your music anymore, you can select with playlists, etc you want to sync.

One or two differences I've seen so far, like when playing music and you're forwarding a song with the slider, it tells you you're doing ''fast scrubbing''. LOL
