The iPhone Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

yip, apparently it has something to do with Air Sharing and a symbolic link, i tried the fix of creating a new symbolic link using ssh and putty, but still not working :(

Tried that, still not working. 100% sure i did everything right... i do have some experience with unix/linux command line

have you tried uninstalling it in Cydia, ssh into the phone, delete the cycorder app folder, then reinstall it?
 
I honestly don't notice much difference, the best features come while using iTunes 9, the OS itself might be a little faster and stable but hardly noticeable unless you're looking.

Just feels fast, slick and solid + the knowledge that everything is working now. (tethering and mms)

Was always annoyed that i could not use my iphone as a modem when i travelled.
 
I has been a very good week for Apple (mentioned on the Mac discussion board as well), I am very impressed with the new video camera & fm tuner ipods, itunes 9 is really cool (dare i say it as a windows/ubuntu linux user) and OS 3.1 is out.

Well done Apple!

*Now I just hope there will be better support forthcoming in Ubuntu 9.10 for my iPhone.

does mms work out of the box on OS 3.1? I thought vodacom still had to do a few things on their side? but if it works out of the box then thats great
 
ok i gave up on cycorder, 0.9.6.1 simply doesnt want to work, i even set permissions to 777, still nothing...

Well thats just awesome.. but I do enjoy having apps like iRealSMS/iBirthday/iBlacklist (got a few on my blacklist, lol) so dont really want to give that up by installing 3.1. I'll stick with swirlyMMS for now and wait for the jailbreak...

In general, I am truly AMAZED at this device... wow a piece or art. I guess people who don't have a iPhone won't understand :)
 
does anybody have local download links to iPhone 3GS 3.0.1 and 3.1.1?
And if I download outside of itunes.. can I restore my iPhone using the external download ipsw file? I heard something about "Shift+restore button" ?

My fav app right now has to be kindle, my amazon account is being put to use again and I love the free books and sampling.
