not sure if this belongs under Mac or iPhone but basically I have the WiFi Disk app - I'd like to create an ad-hoc network to connect to when I am at client sites (so that I can use WiFi Disk without assaulting sundry networks.)
I have managed to create a network on my Macbook Pro and the iPhone sees it and connects however the 3G icon remains (as if it is not connected) and Wifi Disk reports no Wifi connection on launch... any suggestions?

you cannot install 3.0.1 anymore on the 3Gs, apple's not authorizing the restore, only 3.1

what do you mean by this? surely if I use iTunes 8 and restore with my own firmware it cant be blocked?
+It is comming with 3.0 so I can use that if I cant update to 3.0.1

3.1 allows video editing on the 3G apparently, but you need to download a video.

My guess is that Apple forgot to disable it....

Allthough is appears to add significant bulk to a bare iPhone (guestimate is probably 4mm in depth), it feels much more natural to hold and operate with one hand, plus +10 for the added shock absorption the silicon lining offers.

I dig mine.

Weird - I bought mine today for R299 - macnificent have them for R399 though (same colour).

Just a quick question on syncing music in itunes.

How come some songs dont show album art in the ipod app, but I have the correct artwork in itunes?

any fixes?
I have manually edited them, but sometimes even then, the artwork shows as a black square...

lol, just find a cardboard box, get a scissor and with a little bit of creativity you'll have a dock in no time.
