iPhone 3G OS 3.1 and MMS settings (Vodacom)

I hope there is some bright spark out there that can assist me with this query.

I have loaded the latest iPhone OS 3.1 and yet still have intermittent problems in sending MMS. Sometimes it works ... other times it does not.

My settings are as follows:

Cellular Data APN: iphone.vodacom.za

MMS APN: mms.vodacom.net

MMSC: mmsc.vodacom4me.co.za
MMS Proxy: 196.006.128.013:8080
MMS Max message size: 307200

Is there anything wrong or missing?

Ok, will try to install ultrasn0w again once I'm at home, no WIFI here at work. Thanks for all the help guys! Will keep you posted :)

I was really hoping that it was factory unlocked, because I'm having issues with my Wifi looking connectivity... I read that ultrasn0w might be to blame... but I guess I cant go without it now....

Before you do that - just leave it for a few hours and see what happens.

When I had a US phone, it specifically said "Unsupported Carrier". After soft-unlocking, it sometimes took a while to pick up VC as my carrier. You can't loose anything - except for a few hours of your time.

iphone 3.1 vodacom mms settings

My phone also only works intermittently. For instance, can't send anything as I type this.

I don't think vodacom has their side sorted properly yet.

mmmm only read this post now after reinstalling ultrasn0w. Carrier back online... I wonder if restoring to OS 3.0 will allow it to work without ultrasn0w. As you guys said, its wierd that it doesnt show unsupported carrier... it seems like a lot of effort to restore and jailbreak...
 
Lots of reading just done(2-3 pages posted in thread by 4pm:) ) If it is IMPOSSIBLE (which I doubt it is) to restore to previous versions of 3GS software I will leave it on 3.0 .... until jailbreak of course!

ADD: Looks like my iPhone only coming friday(if lucky) or next week as USA had labor day so that delayed my whole sending :(

It's already possible to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0. Workaround already on google. No jailbreak though...

Only if you managed to get your ECID stored by Saurik on his server. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with 3.1 as the lowest FW you can restore to.

you really shouldn't post this without posting the accompanying warning, especially as there are several guys on here ordering phones from the us... i.e. locked

you can only downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0 if you started with a jailbroken 3.0 on which cydia says shsh on file

the workaround is very specific to only a few people, be sure you are one of these before fiddling, and downgrading from 3.1 to 3.0 will not downgrade baseband, so network locked phones CANNOT be network unlocked even after the downgrade
 
if I am stuck on 3.0 for a while I am not phased at all... I find it impossible for 3.1 to be jailbroken!

Um... I said workaround, did I tell people to downgrade?NO. Thats why I said workaround on google, so that they can go and read on google.. Seriously, stop trying to "Moderate" my posts Mr.Master!

You get what you pay for... a little bit extra and you can get a good deal locally, you pay extra but it's unlocked for real.

No pansy unlocks needed. :cool:

either way I want it jailbroken so dont see how local stock helps!
