I can't seem to find Cydget on cydia? Is there a replacement or other reason why I can't find it?
 
Should work - no beta keys or any activations required, and the GM is the final version of the OS.
 
All I want is OS 4.0 asap!

They need to get the download going on iTunes
 
Just updated to 4.0 - working - AWESOME!!!!! Have to install all my apps and play around now :)

For those planning on doing it - keep in mind that you have to download the iTunes 9.2 Beta before you can activate your iPhone. 9.2 now also creates thumbnails of your album art so scrolling on our Mac in the album art view is sooo much smoother now :)

Good job. Gonna get that for iPod Touch 3G.
I was wondering when my Mac would scroll albums faster than an iPad!
 
Ok so I just updated my 3.1.2 3GS to 4.0 GM custom firmware which i made i.e. jailbroken and this thing is solid!

- Much nicer feel to the OS. Sliding from page to page on the homescreen is not so "light" anymore, feels much more solid.
- Entering and exiting apps has a much nicer transition/fade to/from homescreen
- Categories - done VERY nicely!
- Multitasking - awesome!
- EDIT: Cydia upgrade essential just appeared, maybe that's less buggy. - Cydia is still buggy as its from a RedSnow beta, but im sure it will be updated soon
- Zoom for camera!
- Sort photo/vid library by type (photo/video)

I'm sure there are a lot of Cydia app incompatibilities with 4.0 so i'm gonna try and stay away from the usual stuff until the apps are updated for 4.0!

:) Go for it!

It doesn't require jailbreak if you are on Vodacom, but I don't use it myself.

If you have an officially factory unlocked device, then just restore to the firmware and activate in iTunes as normal.

The ONLY catch is that you can only use iTunes 9.2 to do so which is ONLY available for Mac OSX at the moment.
