Another noob Q: How do I find MMS sent to the 4/and how do I verify that MMS is enabled on the phone?
My internet searches are restricted cause I'm at work & phone reception is poor in the office.

Your MMS's are in messages. Go to messages and click the little camera button and see if you can send a photo. Like this:

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the whole iPhone world and need some advice. I just received my first ever iPhone 4 a few minutes ago. I did alot of reading on this forum over the past month, but I do not know where to start. Can you guys please assist as to what are the important things to do and where to start, like jailbreaking.. should I or shouldnt I, and how do I do it? And I read somewhere about registering with a US account, can someone please ellaborate. And finally what are the first apps I should download to get started?

In settings->messages, I get
-show preview (on/off)
-repeat alert (on/off)
-character count (on/off)
nothing about mms - I'm on mtn.
Are their any settings under your network settings? Maybe you need to reset them??

Thanks man... I see all fields under 'cellular data network' are empty. No APN set for anything, not even internet. Guess I gotta call MTN.
Try reset the network settings first and see if that populates the fields...

A reset doesn't populate the fields.
Ooh, will have to get the settings then. Think they are here on myBB somwhere...

You have to have the correct network settings.
These settings worked perfectly on my wife's iphone:
APN: myMTN
username: mtnmms
password: mtnmms
MMSC: http://mms.mtn.co.za/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 196.11.240.241:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 99999
MMS UA Prof URL:
I was hoping someone here could assist me. I got my iPhone Yesterday. I tried opening a US iTunes account last night. The instructions were good, however, the step where they ask for method of payment, the tutorial says that we should select "none", however this option is no longer there. How do we go around this?
