I had over 4700 shares suddenly I now have 47. Trying to get hold of ShareInvest and I say I have issues with Rights for one of my shares - immediately the Consultant says, is it Lonmin?

Turns out all the shares were consolidated "LONMIN’s 100-for-one share consolidation saw its market capitalisation fall about 14% to about R4bn on Friday." But this did not reduce the value of the shares.

Correct, its been mentioned multiple times over the past few pages. Hell, it was even mentioned like 5 posts above yours.

I am still sticking to my guns and holding on to my now 108 shares for at least 2 more months before I decide on its fate. Not jumping ship yet.

Bought some more shares. Average purchase is at R18.53

Hoping it goes above so I can start making money off it.

You brave to buy more. I'm also holding off selling to see what happens in the next few months :)
Brave? Lol I think I just a blind investor making a rash decision. Hoping for the best. But the little that I have invested in lonmin I am willing to lose.

Same here, also prepared to lose. Although the rest of my portfolio I most certainly do NOT want to lose

Lonmin was stable today. I hope it keeps it up.

so do I. Considering it was trading at R12.34 on Friday, I'm quite pleased that it has worked it's way up gradually over the last 2 days of trade. Today is closed at R15.35

sure its still a far way from where it needs to be, but I am sticking to my guns on this one. Everything I see tells me that it SHOULD go bust, but I think it's going to go the other way.

This is my only emotionally driven share

For the green guys out there who are taking punts with what isn't big money. You need to leave your investments in the hands of those that know what they are doing.

I suggest something like an Allan gray debit order to build up a portfolio for you. Work from there and don't put the limited cash you have against the wind.

can we still buy shares in this beauty? :D

Or course.

However I strongly advise against it.

This is a sector you do not want in your portfolio anymore.

Times has changed mining in the traditional sense is not sustainable anymore .
