The LONMIN share price thread

Sold at 21.40 intraday ;)

Good for you

I just got stopped out at R19. I've lost R1200 after putting in R25k. So far Lonmin is down 7.8% intraday as at 10:37.

Trading is not for the faint hearted. What I'm happy about is that I have no emotion at all at losing R1200. A successful trader is someone that doesn't show emotion when they win or lose. There's a possibility that Lonmin will move up above R20 intraday later today.

down 10.24% trading at R18.49

edit: make that 12.62%

Remember, trading is still volatile, hence the reason for the Sense alert. It could, and probably will bounce back above the R20 mark again sometime today or tomorrow. But, sometime, it will move into a correction and level out. The big question is, what will the correction amount be? R15 or R25?

After this, it will be upon the SA Government, Platinum price and demand and Lonmin management who will decide where the price will go from there.

Thank you. Back to 19.79. I think you can expect quite a bit more movement today though.

Unfortunately, it is their policies and corrupt members that affect companies indirectly in a very negative way.

In terms of the mining sector, I will not be surprised if the ANC has tremendous pressure from the Chinese behind the scenes, to rid the sector of Western companies. When the Chinese comes in, I am sure you will see new policies and laws that will ban all strikes and labour organizations. Unfortunately though, I do not see any of the Chinese companies listing on stock exchanges.

Today the share price has been extremely volatile. It opened at around R17 and went down to around R15. It later went up to around R16.5 and is down back to, and is currently sitting at, R15.20. It's down 10% today as of now, i.e. 10:25am. Volatile indeed. I'm happy with my decision to sell at R19 last week and lose only R1.2k.

Yeah, I've been holding out for R19 again, but unfortunately that hasn't happened atain yet. :-(
