The LONMIN share price thread

So another company will willingly pump money into a mine that has just this year been implicated in an Emmy award winning documentary? Good luck with your investment guys

Also the rights issue was already approved so they are already pumping

Like I said, good luck with your investments guys. I wish you the best ;)

Dony be such a cynic.

It's not like people are throwing their life savings into this. At 30c a share you can buy s **** ton load and walk away either with a fat wad of cash, or you down a few bucks.

It's not like we dumped our life savings into this. We went into it knowing that it was a gamble, prepared to lose a few bucks. I've already more than doubled what I put in, based on current prices...

Exactly I only have a few K pumped in and at a hefty profit already just waiting for that above R1 then I'm out smiling

Just remember guys, you'll have to declare all your profits when you do your tax return next year

I really am not a cynic guys. I was just curious. If this works, well done.

Learn't a lot during the past couple days even if Lonmin tanks it's a good investment as far as school fees goes

Short term speculative share investing gains are seen as income tax. You must hold for 3 years as far as I understand for it to be capital gains.

And the difference is?

I am an investment noob :D :o
I'm not sure he's correct, CGT is tax on money you get from selling an asset.

Income tax is tax you pay on your salary if an individual or money you get from your day to day business activities.
