Missing white woman syndrome (MWWS) is a vernacular term for the disproportionately greater degree of coverage in television, radio, and print news reporting of a missing person case involving a young, attractive, middle or upper middle class white woman, compared with cases concerning a missing male, or missing persons of other races or classes.[1][2][3] The essential features of a missing person said to give rise to Missing White Woman Syndrome are sex,[4] race or ethnicity, social class, (relative) beauty, and age.

Though cute attractive people do make headlines, I think you are a bit obsessed with her colour.

whenever a child goes missing i have always wondered why the sniffer dogs are never brought in at the time of the initial missing persons report. surely doing it this way you can narrow down the suspects or leads.
This would use up limited resources since a lot of 'missing' people turn up on their own. With children and vulnerable people, it is essential to act quickly. The search should begin in the house and garden.

but sometimes after a week or longer the body of a missing child ends up in the neighbours house under the bed or whatever. if the dogs were there on day one sniffing around they might have found the missing child dead or alive.

DNA Proof

That's all the proof I need.

Reading that chapter indicated -- has the DNA material collected from the car been analysed yet ????

IF so what was the finding

Have the McCanns undergone a modern professional lie-detector test ????

The dogs were used 3 months after Madelaine went missing.

And they went ballastic Eddie just about peed himself several times over with excitement -and that was just the hire car. Remember this is a dog who had pinpointed the storage scene the body of the Zapata crime that occured from some thirty years previous, yet whose findings were not admissable in court at the time because the defense team thought them unscientfic and unfortunately the Judge had agreed. Dogs don't lie.

Read up a bit on these two dogs and you will be enlightened. They are not the average cadaver dog. The only PROOF the world will get is if there is a confession.

I agree. It would also have been helpful to have had normal sniffer dogs (not sure if they did have them in the early stages or not).

Sniffer dogs were used immediately after the disappearance - without result.

Hair samples from Madelaine and the twins were tested and found to contain no evidence of any trace chemicals supporting the sedation theory.

In addition -

John Barrett, a former Scotland Yard dog handler, said that the dogs used to detect a 'death smell' on Kate's Bible and clothes were brought in too long after Madeleine vanished since the crucial scent lasts for no longer than a month.

Yet three months later dogs detect a scent ?

If the suggestion of sedation cannot stand up to scrutiny then perhaps Madelaine died by accident - falling down or something.

Police were on site 10 minutes after being called - yet some suggest that during this period two doctors were able to dispose of the body, without being noticed, so cleverly that it has never been found.

There is little evidence to prove abduction apart from an open window - so naturally the authorities need to look at alternative possibilities. But the theory that the parents are responsible is simply incredulous.

Even if police were there 10 minutes after being called, it does not necessarily imply that they were called immediately after Madeleine were found to be missing ... that could leave a window of opportunity.

Lie detectors are not allowed as evidence in UK courts due to their fallibility.

The investigation took place in Portugal, so their legal system would apply. No idea what it says about lie detectors though.

Yet to be hired by the FBI, CIA, MI5, M16, NSA, etc etc you need to pass one.
Interesting.

They remove doubts- but they can be beaten if a person is taking a tranquilizer for one example.

I don't think Mcanns have yet ever had one -nor have volunteered to either?

"Making millions in appearance fees"? What an outrageous thing to say. Evidence?

They are not making millions, but spending everything they have to find their daughter.

I for one believe them.

Statistically when a child is lost, it is usually people who know the child - family, close friends, neighbours that are responsible. Those are statistics. Kidnappings by stranger perverts, gangsters or human traffickers are very rare.

There is merit in saying that they know more than they let on.

Something else to chew on...

Parallels have been drawn with the case of disappearance of another child, Joana Cipriano, who disappeared on 12 September 2004 from her home in the village of Figueira, seven miles (11 km) from where Madeleine was last seen. Chief investigating officer Guilhermino da Encarnação was also involved in that investigation, in which no body was found, but which ended with the conviction of Leonor and João Cipriano, Joana's mother and uncle.[179] Since then Gonçalo Amaral and four other Portuguese police officers have been charged with offences.[180] A judge decided, in February 2008, that Amaral will stand trial accused of falsifying evidence and covering up for the other four who are accused of torture.[181]

Falsifying evidence... cadavour odours detected 2 months later than the period duing which these odours can be detected... and who would have easy access to cadavers....

Crackpot conspiracy theory maybe but no more implausible than that from' the parents did it' lynch mob.

Were the mother and brother in that case released ?

Polygraph results are not admissable in Portuguese courts - and tests reveal accuracy measured at ' only slightly above that of chance '.

Why did the McCanns never take a polygraph test ? They were never asked to.

Were the mother and brother in that case released ?

Though Leonor Cipriano confessed to killing her daughter, it was only after nearly 48 hours of continuous interrogation, and she retracted her confession the next day, claiming she had been beaten. She had extensive bruising after the interrogation, which the police claimed came about when she threw herself down the stairs

and this perhaps more interestingly;-

The village of Figueira is only seven miles from Praia da Luz, where Madeleine McCann disappeared on 3 May 2007. In both cases the mothers launched campaigns[citation needed] to find their girls and in both cases the local police didn't find the girls alive, and investigated the possibility of the mothers having killed their daughters.[10] On June 19 1996, six years old German child Renè Hasèe, also disappeared from the Amoreira beach near Aljezur while walking a few meters ahead of his parents.[11][12]
A child protection specialist, Mark Williams-Thomas, who believes that Joana's and Madeleine's disappearances are related, commented that the disappearance of two children unknown to each other, within a period of four years in a seven-mile radius, would be a huge coincidence, especially considering that "Portugal is a small country with very, very few abductions

The possibility must exist that the Portuguese police simply didn't want a third unsolved child abduction on their patch.

Contradiction

Why did the McCanns never take a polygraph test ? They were never asked to.

Well no wonder the Wests Intelligence agencies are a bunch of useless morons.

It is all those "chancy" lie detector tests they have to undergo all the time.

Beats me , if it is all a load of old ****e , WHY they continue with it , and why it is absolutely essential in keeping your job.

( Refusal to undergo the test are grounds for termination of service )

I am not disputing your theory entirely, but what I found interesting in missing persons cases, is that in a fair amount of the cases where the missing person turned out to be killed by a family member or someone they knew, that person (the killer) launches a campaign to seek assistance in finding the "missing person" or the killer. I am immediately thinking of the US cases of Susan Smith and Scott Petersen.

I am by no means saying this is true in all cases of missing persons.
