Compliments of Supasta :D

Cristiano Ronaldo has told his agent, Jorge Mendes, that he wants to leave Manchester United to fulfil his "dream" of playing for Real Madrid.

The Portugal international's wishes have been made clear to the Spanish giants and their president, Ramon Calderon, will now move forward with his plan to try to bring the world's most coveted footballer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo will be offered a deal worth £150,000 per week after tax, a contract that he feels is too good to refuse, but as well as fulfilling his financial demands, he has informed his closest advisers that the chance of playing for such a prestigious club is one he does not want to miss out on.

On Saturday, the double Footballer of the Year said that he would announce his decision regarding his one-off move to Madrid "in two or three days", however, it is now believed he will not talk to the world's media before Friday at the earliest.

It is understood that one of his associates has told Portuguese journalists that he as made up his mind to leave United and that he hopes the club will back down on the previously hardline approach that they have adopted to his world-record transfer to the Spanish champions.

This latest twist will only serve to further damage relations between the two clubs, which are already at breaking point after weeks of rumours and leaks emanating from the Spanish capital.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be furious about this latest development, but until the player comes out publicly to deny he wants to leave Old Trafford, which he has repeatedly refused to do, the speculation will continue, with the feeling growing that he does after all wish to depart the Premier League and European champions for pastures new.

It is believed that his compatriot Mendes and Madrid are working on a strategy to overcome United's present resistance, however, seeing how the latter have already threatened to report their Spanish counterparts to football's world governing body, Fifa, while Ferguson has revealed how the Glazer family would rather let the player rot in the reserves than sell him to their rivals, that may well prove problematical.

Ferguson will not, though, as has been suggested in recent weeks, make a personal trip to Portugal's Euro 2008 training camp in Switzerland to persuade the player to remain at the 'Theatre of Dreams', like he did in 1996 with Eric Cantona, preferring instead to go on his summer holiday to the South of France and leave the matter in the hands of chief executive David Gill.

It's not going to happen, and if it does it's not the end of the world. Dunno why everyone is getting so worked up.

yea henry im not sure either

if he goes he goes so what

kule is making this into such a huge thing which is not :)

if he has always dreamed about playing for real madrid, then he must go and get his dream but he must do it before next season because he might not do as well and only be worth 35 million :)

Good luck finding someone to score another 31 goals for you next season if he leaves. ;)

we will geek believe me 100m can buy any striker on the market plus some change for a few other top class players :)

i dont for second think ronaldo is the be all and end all for united

they did just fine before he was around and will do just fine after he leaves :)

I agree. It's not like we struggle to score goals normally. How many times over the last ten years have we been top scorers in England? Often I am sure.

If he stays, cool. If he goes, he ill be replaced with people that can do the same job and get us the same amount of goals as he did.

and i agree too. I dont understand non MU supporters, dont they realise that our strikers were not up to standard last season, and next season we will see(or should see) a superstar of a striker at MU ? that alone will allow Rooney to release some pressure and start performing.

Hehe, I am not his biggest fan for sure...

For me, he does not add to the team. Defensively he is solid enough but as a right back, nowadays you neeeed to attack as well, which he does not do. :(

he has proven himself 2be a quality member of the team...he attacks as well...he set up ronaldos goal in champ final for 1

Lol its gonna be ronaldos loss if he goes...not uniteds...united will get the money n buy quality from that money...no doubt he is the best player in the world but he does not make united (unlike liverpool where if there was no gerrard n torres then they possibly wouldve gotten relegated lol) ... he performed brilliantly this season but remember we beat the likes of arsenal 4 nil without him(and that wasnt arsenals reserve side...fabregas ,adebayor etc played) no doubt id love to have him back next season but we'll survive without him and if he goes good luck to him ... best player in the world

In some regards it would almost be better for the team if he did go. I mean, he had a great season and all, but to rely so very much on one player is not that great either.

Someone commented that without his goals we would have finished 5th or something and clearly not won the CL either :o

Indeed, now we agree.

Strength in depth is key and that is what United have...That is why reliance on one man should not be so key...

Like you said, our reserves beat a full-strength Arsenal team 4-0 so that is pretty good :)

That was ALL he did the whole season going forward :o

i remember him making runs n setting up goals as well n also defendin well...that was just the first example that came to mind...but like u i am also not browns biggest fan but he performed better than i expected him 2...but given the choice of him or dani alves...ill take alves...or lahm:D

well aint that wat all the non supporters say...i guess its hard to accept the fact that uniteds on top again lol so the feeble defenses come into play...wen ppl say things like that they not using logic n common sense...i mean they cant just say minus ronaldos goals n we'd finish 5th sheesh...if he wasnt there then there wouldve been someone else in his place...maybe not as good but also the goals mightve fallen to the strikers instead if ronaldo wasnt there...lots of ppl love basing arguements on hearsay, not good (mius torres goals,i rest my case lol :))
