LOL or neville :) ...i was excited to see him come on during that one match... i really hope he plays next season cause in my opinion he is highly under rated

He is not underrated by me, that's for sure! He is legend. I hope he comes back asap too!

and i agree too. I dont understand non MU supporters, dont they realise that our strikers were not up to standard last season, and next season we will see(or should see) a superstar of a striker at MU ? that alone will allow Rooney to release some pressure and start performing.

I think Rooney became slapgat cos when you know there's someone else in the team who is always scoring, you are def gonna start underperforming, cos you know Ronaldo is there and he will score. I think Rooney needs to take more ownership in front of goal. He was awful in front of goal last season. He could've easily had another 12 goals. That would've put him right up there with the top scorers.

Everton agree Ramsey fee

Everton have confirmed they have received permission to speak to highly-rated teenager Aaron Ramsey after they agreed a £5millon fee with Cardiff for the player.

The race for Ramsey is hotting up with Manchester United announcing on Tuesday they had agreed a fee for the 17-year-old and Arsenal have matched United's offer.

There had been speculation that Everton and local rivals Liverpool were both poised to enter the raise to sign the player and the Blues have subsequently confirmed on their website they have had a bid accepted.

Talks

A statement on club's official website read: "Everton have agreed a fee with Cardiff for Aaron Ramsey.

"The Bluebirds have accepted a bid of £5m from Everton for the 17-year-old midfielder.

"Everton have now been given permission to talk to the player about a move to Goodison Park."

Ramsey made 22 senior appearances for David Jones' Cardiff side last season, netting two goals.

He was used as a substitute in the FA Cup final defeat to Portsmouth and was selected by John Toshack for Wales' squad for the recent international friendlies against Holland and Iceland.

Calderon gets Real-istic

Madrid supremo not prepared to upset United hierarchy.

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon insists his club would never risk their relationship with Manchester United by trying to unsettle Cristiano Ronaldo.

The transfer saga of the summer to date has seen Madrid continually speak of a desire to tempt the Portuguese winger to the Spanish capital.

Calderon has made secret of his admiration for a player who has failed to convincingly express his commitment to life at Old Trafford, since the speculation started after United's UEFA Champions League glory in Moscow.

Sir Alex Ferguson, United chief executive David Gill and club owners, the Glazer family, have been united in their stance that no offer from Madrid would tempt them into parting company with Ronaldo.

And now Calderon, who only earlier this week stated his belief that Real could afford the player, has conceded that while Ronaldo is under contract, his signature remains an impossibility.

He told Marca: "(Ronaldo) is an impossible signing because his club don't want to sell him. We can't do anything if the club that owns him don't want to sell.

"We would never (approach a player under contract) as this is not the policy of Real Madrid, and especially not with a club who we are such good friends with."

I didn't say he had a bad season. I said he was poor in front of goal. I don't think anyone can dispute that.

totally agree, its frustrating to see Rooney's goal attempts and how many of those were scored. If CR does leave, Rooney should step it up.

Definitely. I've seen Rooney score amazing goals. I want that Rooney back.

Also he needs that 'other' striker. Can you imagine the amount of pressure on the guys shoulder knowing that its only up to him and Tevez to do the job. It was burning him out i think ...
