If United ''can'' then why dont they? Cos they cant. They couldnt score against a Villereal team that Barca thrashed 4 - 0.

Did you watch the FA Cup quarter final last year against Portsmouth? United dominated that game like I have never ever seen anyone dominate a game. They had all the possession, all the attacks and all the shots on goal. But they failed to do anything with it all, and conceded a late penalty (Pompey's only attack of the entire game) and ended up losing 1-0.

IF the United Barca game had been the same and United had been totally outplayed and just hung on for the win, then I would give you that much,. Fact of the matter is, that was simply not the case. It was a close game, as many CL semi finals will be. Decided by the odd goal. Like the Liverpool Chelsea semis of recent years. I am not sure why you would harp on about this one game. United got the goal, were not outplayed, and deserved the win.

You are right that I do not watch La Liga. I do not want to. I have seen the games from there. I do not like the style of football, find it boring, the quality of the teams and players low, and have absolutely no ties to Spain, so I am not sure why I would be watching their national football league. It's not like you watch the Belgian Premier League on a regular basis, or the J-League or any other random league come to think of it.

If you know anything about United, then you will know just ho wmuch Barca are like them - they play attacking, exciting football that fans like to see. Now, if we have to win some games 1-0 along the way to titles and trophies then so be it. ;)

lol you have never watched a game of la liga in your life, which is pretty evident in every post whre you mention the league.
Why do you think Ronaldo "dreams" of playing la liga??
Quality of the league is low?
Then why has it dominated Uefa's club rankings from the start and hold the record for most times as the number 1 european league.
Why has it attracted the best players in the world, maradona,zidane,ronaldinho....

Manchester are playing nothing like barcelona and comparing barca's style to a manchester team which struggle against lower league teams is an insult.

Manchester has never played barcelonas style of football and never will.Please show me one commentator/writer etc who has ever said they play the same type of football.

dude, a team one day, isn't the same team another day, you claim united cant, they just beat chelsea 3-0 which shoul have been 5 considering ronaldo two fair but disallowed goals. i doubt barca could...oh no wait, they cant, thats right they lost to chelsea
 
You forget Barca beat Chelsea the last time the two teams met. Something you would have known if you follow football.

Barca have scored 88 goals in 33 games. United have never ever scored that many goals half way through the season in their entire HISTORY. What makes you so sure that they can match Barca's goal ratio?

ok were exactly are you taking this argument?
are you try to point out the strength of the EPL or the shocking defending of the La liga?

have you also taken into account the number of conceeded goals?

then have you mentioned that united, even though they haven't scored 88 goals are still number 1 in probably the most tightly contested league of all time?

please think before you answer this time
 
This is my answer to you.

La Liga has been the number one league in Europe since the rankings were invented. EPL had two good seasons in the CL and now you think it is the most tightly contested league of all time? lol!!!!! Clearly you are a EPL fanboy and dont watch other leagues.

How many teams have won the EPL over 10 years? I think its 4 compared to the 5 teams who won La Liga.

I would think that La Liga has more depth seeing that more teams have won the title over the years.

Over 2 ties united were unable to score against a team that lay 5th in la liga.
The only reason this seasons has been so "contested" is because of the inconsistent performances of the top 4.This is probably one of the worst I have seen the top 4 play in the epl in years.

Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been warned that even his clever footwork might not be enough to prevent him getting caught offside - because his new girlfriend is a two-timing liar.

And the warning comes from someone who should know - her husband.

The 23-year-old Manchester United star - who recently crashed his £200 000 (R3-million) Ferrari - has been dating Alyona Haynes, a 25-year-old beauty from Ukraine who met her millionaire hubby, John Haynes, via an internet dating site.

The Sun newspaper in Britain reported this week that Alyona has a history of two-timing and playing one suitor off against another.

Bitter and angry, John (50) - who owns a cleaning firm in England - told the paper: "I don't mind if Ronaldo wants to be with her - but let's at least show him the truth before he does anything foolish."

John realised his wife was dating the footballer when they were snapped on a date last month. He said Alyona was sometimes naked in bed with him when she SMSed Ronaldo, and says he can prove it by the timing of her messages.

John told The Sun that Alyona was also dating another man when he first met her, via a lonely hearts website. She e-mailed him from her home in Odessa, Ukraine.

But, according to the paper, John found out that she was also in contact with a 31-year-old US commodities broker.

Despite having never met John at the time, Alyona declared in an e-mail sent on November 27 2003: "I am very romantic and tender and I want to find my knight on the white horse. I also like to go the beach to listen to lapping of the waves, wind blowing, seagulls crying."

And she urged him on, stating in broken English: "I think I am a mysterious girl and I want somebody to get to the bottom of me

At the time she was 20, a quarter of a century younger than the man she was chasing.

But within months John was devastated to discover he had competition from the American, who she had been secretly wooing and whose profile was on the same lonely hearts website.

She had led the American on to the extent that he was prepared to move halfway across the world to marry her.

After Alyona apologised in a letter to John, the two were married when she decided to "dump him and keep me", John told The Sun.

Today Alyona - who is said to have dated Ronaldo about eight times - works in the fashion department at the Selfridges store in Manchester. Ronaldo met her in a posh restaurant in August.

A week later, John found the first of 300 SMSs the pair exchanged.

88 goals in 33 games? Is that inlcuding all competitions then? I cannot be bothered to search around for facts, but that does not sound like that many to me.

Also, surely that just goes to show that La Liga is weak compared to the EPL? Do you think that they would have scored that many playing against teams from England up to now?
 
The only reason why they've scored 88 times in 33 games is cause of the lack of defense from the other pathetic La Liga teams. Oh and if you don't have anything good to say about Man U in the MANCHESTER UNITED THREAD then sod off!!
 
In 04/05 Chelski only conceded 15 goals all season. We have conceded 10 in 21 and have all the hard game behind us. Wonder if we will better that this time around...

huh? Its all competitions of course.

Doesnt seem like alot? Nobody has EVER done it in La Liga or the EPL before. NOBODY. So how can you say it doesnt seem like alot.

I think if they played against EPL teams they would have scored more. Could it not be to the excellent foward lineup that Barca has that is the reason why they are scoring like this?

Villereal's defence seemed to be too good for United over TWO legs, they couldnt score a single goal. Ateletico Madrid's defence seemed to be too good for Liverpool also over TWO legs. So what do u mean La Liga teams dont have a good defence.

Just for the record. Barca played that same Atletico Madrid side few weeks before Liverpool and they hammered them for 6 - 1. Barca played the exact same side that United couldnt score against and hammered them 4 - 0.

I laugh at people who says La Liga teams dont have e defence.

Well, like I said, I cannot be bothered to search around for facts right now to prove it one way or another. I am not that much bothered to be honest.

I just hope United play Barca at some point this season, then maybe you'll be happy. Unless we win. Again.
 
I would love Barca play United again, you know that. That is if you can make it to the quater finals.
