Yup. Barcelona were miles better. You can't argue with 75% possession... Man U better up their game dramatically in the 2nd leg.

Amazing that we still came away with 0-0. That is a good result really. We certainly defended really well. But the 2nd leg will be a lot different I reckon.

it was around 65% over the whole game. Still crazy though.

It was 63% to be more accurate, 12% more possession is a big deal.
Taking into consideration the most messed up formation and strategy used by MU, 63% is quite poor for Barcelona's standards ending with no goals.

That is the key thing, that they didn't manage to score. They never even looked like scoring. At home. In a champions League Semi - that is poor.

catch how where barcelona better than united

united did more with the ball than barcelona did
they created more chances than barcelona
united could have had an away goal? i didnt think for one second barce would score

just because a team has more possession than another team does make them better, its pointless having 75 minutes of possession and not troubling the goalie

Where do you pull out 75% possession from ?

From Sky Sports statistics.

Barcelona had 72.8% possession actually. They completely dominated the match. Barcelona had 14 shots at goal, Man U 4. Barc's passing success rate was 89.4%. Man U defended very well but obviously they can consider themselves very lucky for not conceding any goals. That's reality.

I'm a Man U supporter but I can admit it if the opposing team did well on the night. You can't?

I'm sure Man U will turn things around at Old Trafford.

Well SKy Sports has the possession wrong. At some point during the match in the second half, they showed the possession statistics for the match and it was round about 65 - 35 in Barca's favour. They showed the possession stats for each half and the overall. 14 shots on goal? Hmmm...how many were on target?

did you count the minutes and seconds?

can you say for sure it was 63 exactly lol

i think it was more like 75%

i cannot be sure as i did not count the seconds barcelona had the score but if i had to guess which everyone but catch is doing i would say 75%

united did more with the ball than barcelona did
When? One dodgy penalty?
they created more chances than barcelona
Nope, only 4 shots at goal for the whole match. Barcelona had 14 shots at goal

Having possession is better than not having it. Good luck with that argument.
I agree that if you don't do anything with the ball, it doesn't really matter but they did trouble the goalie much more than Man U did to Barc. I love these one eyed supporters. :) I think Man U is great and I'm a fan myself but if they had a bad night out, then at least admit it. Man U's defense was great, but that's all they had to offer. On the night.

globe how is having possession and doing nothing with better than another team who is dominated and nearly scores a penalty?

i would rather have no possession than have 75% of it and do nothing

seems like a total waste to me

globe watch when united play on tuesday haha i cannot wait for united to show ppl that playing out a 0-0 draw away from home is a good thing :)

14 shots at goal!? There is just no way in hell that that is correct I am afraid.

United still made the clearest scoring opportunities - 1 missed penalties, arguably two that we should have had after that.

And Barca contributed what exactly?
