I don't know whether this has been attempted before, so hear me out:

I am hoping this thread could be a place where man United fans can discuss all things pertaining to the club.

What I don't want it to be is some place that rival fans come to troll/incite/generally cause trouble. I am sure that if there is the interest, they can make their own threads for their own teams.

Often, I want to discuss something only pertaining to United but in the general football thread it often soon becomes overlooked or gets rival fans all worked up who then end up derailing the thread once more. Also, let's not make this a place to bash each other or even other teams because that will only end up in the thread being closed/deleted which is not cool.

So, yes, here it is. If anyone objects, please feel free to make your own threads about your own teams but do NOT come in here looking for trouble :)

Yay Im a fan!! Hardly no whats happening these days, dont follow it to much...

Last year sometime I was watching with my GFs brother and said no way does tervez play for us!? Got some funny looks.:o

First of all , I'd like to hear from fellow supporters just what they think of the current United squad:

My starting 11, if everyone is fit would be:

Van der sar

G Neville
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra

Scholes
Giggs
Ronaldo
Carrick/Hargreaves

Rooney
Tevez

For me Nani has not lived up to his potential at all so far. Anderson seems out of his depth, Park seems never to be match fit and why was he playing up front last night?

Carrick is alrightish but certianly is no replacement for Keane/Scholes.
Hargreaves I have never really been fond of but he is decent
Darren Fletcher should take up a different sport IMO.

What do you guys think?

yes i would like to discuss the fact the ronaldo although being the best player in the world is acting a little arrogant, something i feel wont serve him well in the future :)

peronsally hj i think anderson is going to a super star and should start every game, i like him because he is like a pitbull he hunts you down and wins alot of balls

other than the current squad looks like it could contend for alot of trophies this year

i also really like hargreaves, very solid player who wins alot of ball

nani is a complete failure, it could be because he hardly never plays im not sure

park was only brought to united to get their viewership up and should move ot a smaller club because he aint to bad and might help a club like sunderland

You think so? I agree with the commentators that he has just the right balance of confidence and arrogance. He is, after all, playing like a demon right now.

Just look at Thierry Henry if you want to see arrogance! I remember at one stage where he wouldn't even celebrate scoring a goal, as if he was too good for it or something. IMO, Ronaldo on his current form is waaay better than Henry ever was.

Hectic. Much like Kleberson and people like Nani, I haven't really seen him have a good game for United.

Anderson seems out of his depth

I couldn't possibly disagree more. Anderson has been an absolute revelation and he is only 19.

Hargreaves I have never really been fond of but he is decent

The only problem with Hargreaves is that he is relatively injury prone, but he has been outstanding in most of the games he has played in. Often MOTM material.

It seems you agree with what the commentators are saying then. They also love Anderson. I just cannot see it so far and I have watched every United game this season that has been televised.

In Nani at least, I can see some promise...

How about when he completely dominated gerrard at anfield just for starters.

Seeing as we are on the verge of the 50th anniversary I thought some of you might appreciate this:

Busby Babes: in colour

From the beeb.

Gone but never forgotten.

I've been a Man U fan since Gary Bailey played for them, so won't troll.:)

I'm not a Rooney fan myself and reckon it won't be a great loss if he leaves the side.

Ronaldo on the other hand, well, he's been pretty amazing again.

Giggs should play till he's 50.

Scholes - never liked him, amazing how many goals that guy misses.

Agree with you except for Scholesy. Since the Double in 1996 he has been an absolute legend in my books.

You often hear people call people like Carrick or Hargreaves the unsung heroes in the United side. For me, it will be Scholes all the time. We seemed a lot more together with him on the park last night.

I do agree, though, that he needs to be scoring a lot more goals than he does. Where are the trademark crackers from outside the area?

He's frustrating to watch sometimes, he can miss 3 or 4 in a match.
Then he goes and scores a blinder a few games later.

Though he misses, he does seem to get himself into good positions to score, helps a teamate get one. Guess that's why he's still in the team.

Also think letting Ruud go was a mistake, but that's bygones...
Beckham isn't missed at all.

For me, that description sums up Nani mroe than Scholes. The goals he have scored have been spectacular indeed, but few and far between. Like Ronaldo in his first season, he often goes on great runs and beats defenders only for his final ball/cross/shot to be a disappointment.

I think both Ruud and Becks left at exactly the right time for themselves and for United. Much like the retirements of Peter Schmeichel and Eric Cantona.

nice thread dude! :D
firstly, you guys have to remember that Scholes has been injured for a long time. He's still as good as ever in my eyes.

I disagree with your thoughts on Anderson. I think he should play in every match. like icyrus said, he is a revelation.

arrogant? huh? i agree with your statement about hargreaves. nani is not given a chance to play regularly. how can we expect miracles from a guy that never plays? give him time and games! park is not up to scratch. if i were to count how many times he loses the ball especially in good positions... also, he has no upper body strength and so defenders easily brush him off/aside.

Giggs should play till he's 50.

Scholes - never liked him, amazing how many goals that guy misses.

Giggs i'm not too sure of, but he seems to be playing ok lately. your statement about Scholes  you traitor you! :D

although Scholes was injured, i think his time is coming to an end. he is losing the ball too easily and his passing is sloppy.

How can someone think Anderson is 'out of depth' ? Scholes was forgotten because the of the brilliance of Anderson. He is playing like an 'experienced' world class player. I also think he should play every match but he definately needs the rest, or else he is going to burn out.

I like it when Ronaldo shows some arrogance. That part of the package, oh boy what would united be without him.

Remember Ronaldo when he started for United ? If you (guys) forgot, look at Nani, Ronaldo was the same. Too many tricks etc. So give him time to adapt cos he is going to be another Ronaldo. I have no comments for Park, he is there just to take up space.

Giggs i'm not too sure of, but he seems to be playing ok lately. your statement about Scholes  you traitor you! :D
Giggs has his on/off days, but he does add alot of value/experience so i vote for him.

sloppy? what games were you watching

when was Ronaldo arrogant? it's more like humour. watch it again, closely.

did you not see the Spurs match ? he made alot of bad passes close to his own 18. Ya Ya it was his first match for a very long time but thats no excuse. Portsmouth match, he was good first half but 2nd half he had a few bad moments. Im a big scholes fan, but he needs to find form quick as we approach CL.

Ronaldo has his arrogant moments, but thats how i interpret his expressions.
