You have to remember that other than the playing skill of a player, their market value is what matters a lot to a club.
eg:Beckham had made Real Madrid back their money even before he kicked a ball, through sales.
 
I wouldn't go as far as calling him a legend, more of a one trick poney.He couldn't tackle and heading a ball was out of the question.
Money machine...yes he was definitely that.

Going to the eng match in a few weeks.....wonder if he will be chosen, I hope not as his been keeping good young players out of the team when they should have got rid of him a while back.

he is a legend and always be for me, one of the best crossers football has ever seen

also i think he is one of the best free takers of all time

i watched him week in and week out for united and im sorry but he is a legend and always will be

eng will always be a poor team
best team on planet if you look at their squad, on the pitch however they dont do anything

im sure the prem league has something to with that

No soul. A team of superstars put together with all the money in the world. Does not make a team if you ask me.
 
Like I said a one trick pony, freekicks/crosses is all he had.Compare that for instance to players like mess/ronaldo of today.

Ya everytime england lose they blame the manager, when at the end of the day its down the players who unfortunately are not that good on the world stage as a team.
They playing the USA at Wembley so its gonna be a good laugh if they lose against them.
 
Beckham was certianly not a one trick poney if you look at all he achieved with United - it was far more than just free-kicks and crosses.
 
i think having a guy like beckham in your team is just as good as ronaldo or messi

im guessing you never watched much united and saw the crossers the passes the pure genius of the man

is man united not a team of super stars with a kuk load of money?
all chelsea did was buy their superstars over 3 years were as united build up their team

at the end of the day chelsea becoming what they are has helped the prem league

without chelsea united would win every season and how boring that would get

i wish more billionaires would buy the west hams and villa's

I watched many a man-u game, what beckham achieved at Man-u was down to the team they had not him alone.Its a well known fact in england that his success as a footballer has more to do with his marketing status than his football skill.

There are a lot of younger/better players in his position that should have been given the chance long ago and only recently since they dropped him from the first team have we seen these players been given a chance.

Regarding billionaires buying teams, I can tell you that fans are not happy when their team gets taken over by a foreign corporate.
Same as Manchester fans were not happy when Glazer took over.
 
what did madrids coach say the reason they won the league last year was?

fans may not be happy but look at united since the take over, nothing has changed, so why all the fuss i have no idea
 
Look at man-city, good manager who has taken the club to the highest position they have been in years but their owner wants to get rid of him.

That is what happens when people with more money than sense take over a club.

They benched him most the season and played him in the last few games.
Capello also stated long before the end of the season that beckham will never play for real madrid again and that he will only train with them.
To not seem like a full on w*nker about his other comments (if i remember correct he also said beckhams career in football is over) when beckham left he said he was wrong about him.

In his last season he made 23 appearances and scored 1 goal,

So I dunno what you on about as beckham never played in that many games and only scored 1 goal that season.
 
strange he would say beckahm was the reason they won the title with his return to form

The reason they won the season was down to their head to head record against barca, cappello was criticized for not playing ronaldo and beckham regularly , so the fact he would turn around and say beckham was the reason if anything would be for PR.

We were talking about him being a legend at United, which he was.

It was stated his a legend, which he is not.If I had to chose a legend in football who played for man-u i would have to say cantona hands down.
