If he is not a strong RB then i dont see the need to get him. Then i'd go for Bosingwa.
 
Top 5 MU players of 07/08

My pick.

1.CR- no need to explain

2.Evra- is he the best lb in the world. I would have a hard time replacing him with anyone else.

3.Rio- Rock steady, and vocal leader.

4.Vidic- Part of a great great back 4. Injuries keep him from being higher.

5.Rooney - Wastes alot of chances but he works hard all over the field. Once the new striker comes in, pressure will be off him, and then i would expect more.

Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan has angrily dismissed claims that his side will not stand in the way of United retaining the Premier League title this weekend.

The Reds travel to the JJB Stadium knowing that a win will secure a 17th league title. Although former United club captain Steve Bruce is at the Latics’ helm, Whelan insists rumours that Wigan will lie down are scurrilous.

“All this rubbish in the press about ‘we will be rolling over for Manchester United’ is complete and absolute rubbish,” Whelan told an audience at the Latics’ annual awards dinner.

“You ask the boys, they’ll be fighting their socks off, I’ll tell you. If we can beat Man U, we are going to beat them. We’re going to get stuck in and give it our best shot.

“Whatever they say in Chelsea, we’re Wigan, and we will try and beat any team that comes to the JJB Stadium.”

Following his side's victory at Newcastle on Monday, Chelsea captain John Terry issued a thinly-veiled plea for the Latics to do his side a favour on Sunday.

"They'll do the Premier League justice and will go out there wanting to beat Man U," he told Sky Sports. "We've worked our socks off all year, so we'd be disappointed if they don't."

Roon’s fit for crunch

Wayne Rooney will be back to help Manchester United gun for the Premier League crown on Sunday. The Old Trafford star came through a tough session at their Carrington training ground yesterday and is available for the final-day trip to Wigan. Striker Roo was feared to have suffered a hernia, but a United insider said: “There was nothing Wayne could not do. He was whizzing around and flying into tackles. Not once did he wince. He’s a tough cookie and this is not going to keep him out.”

The Sun also claim Nemanja Vidic has declared himself fit to face Wigan on Sunday after sitting out the Reds’ last two matches with concussion.

In Moscow, the grass pitch, grown specifically to replace the artificial surface at the Luzhniki Stadium for the Champions League final, had to be ripped up almost as soon as it was laid, the Daily Mail reports. Another pitch has been bought from Slovakia at a cost of £160,000 and was hastily imported last week.

In transfer news, the Daily Express claim Sir Alex has his eye on Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar. The 24-year-old currently plies his trade for Ajax in the Eredivisie

United and Chelsea are level heading into the final game of the season. As long as the Reds equal or better Chelsea’s result, the title remains at Old Trafford…

Form guide: United travel to the JJB Stadium on the back of a resounding 4-1 win over West Ham, although Wigan haven’t lost at home in the league since January. The Latics are also on a high after last weekend’s 2-0 win at Aston Villa, a result that secured Wigan’s top-flight survival. Sir Alex’s men haven’t been firing on all cylinders away from home in recent weeks (just one win from the last four matches), although the Reds have gained maximum points in all five previous league meetings.

Ins and outs: Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney are expected to be passed fit after recent injuries (concussion and hip, respectively), although the Reds are still without striker Louis Saha (hamstring). Wigan, meanwhile, are still missing the services of former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot (groin) and long-term absentee Erik Edman (knee).

Star men: Antonio Valencia and Wilson Palacios have been so good for Steve Bruce this season that media sources claim Sir Alex wants both men at Old Trafford in the summer. Valencia, a tricky winger and Ecuador’s brightest star at the 2006 World Cup, netted twice last weekend against Aston Villa.

after the WH game, im much more confident that MU can score more than 2.
so i will also predict a 3-1 or maybe even 4-1. Vidic is definately back, and Rooney should play a part.

As back up I am not sure...Torres perhaps ;) Not that he is going to leave, but he was meant to come to us in the first place - bet he woudln't want to sit on the bench though...

Damn, we'll have to wait and see what happends in the summer break. I assume Fergie will want to see whos hot stuff in the Euro'08 , and then do some signing. I dont think we falter in that department, since i can remember, we had the best strikers in the game.
