The Mazda CX-5 Thread

For Joburgers, I was quoted R2200 By Mazda Woodmead including install. Getting mine done tomorrow. Will be happy to answer questions.

Is this price for any gen CX-5. Have the previous gen and would like to get it installed.

It's for all older generations which support MZD Connect.

My installation at the dealer is scheduled for next week.

Let us know how it goes once you have tested it.

Am keen to get it done as well.

Ok cool, will do.

They quoted me the same price. About 2530.

They said installation will take about 3 hours. Fully booked they said for the week

Hey guys, will the facelifted CX-5 coming to SA have adaptive cruise control (on the top end models)?

Not sure, current model already has adaptive cruise control but not available in SA.

Yeah i know. I saw some reviews of the car on Youtube and they spoke of Adapative Cruise control. However when i looked at the brochure from the dealer - no adaptive cruise control.

Hi, can someone please share some photos of the trim alignment between infotainment screen between instrument cluster and also at the back. I did not pay particular attention before I fitted my new kit so not sure if this 100% or whether I need to take some bits apart again for better fitment. Thanks

These are my pics.

This pic looks funny, but it shows the gap between the top dash trim and display unit as-if the photo was taken from the outside of the windscreen.

I have exactly the same question regarding Adaptive Cruise (posted a few pages back).
Is it now coming to SA or not?
This is critical for me in deciding whether to wait a few more months or pull the trigger on something else. I've tested it in a Tiguan and it (the system, not the Tiguan) will be a game-changer for me.

Would also love to see the 360 camera, ventilated seats and the dark brown nappa leather from the Signature model abroad make it here, but I'd settle with Adaptive Cruise if that was all they added.

They've now checked the AA / Carplay box, but not too keen on the idea of anyone taking apart a brand or almost new vehicle for the fitment.

You can get them to throw in the AA/CarPlay in the deal to sweeten it. It Indy cost about 2.5k, so I doubt they'll complain about it. Saves you the time and money forking extra cash out.

Anyone ever have a warning like this?

Was parked in the sun for about an hour. But this was like 40 afterwards.

Has anyone had issues with i-stop not being available?

I checked the Fuel Economy app and only the battery section isn't highlighted. I doubt it's an issue with the battery as the car is just a year old.

From my understanding, the car has 2 batteries and it must be charged up to a certain level for it to become available. It will show green on the button when it becomes available and you can also see the istop flashing on the gadges.

I had an error a few months ago when the istop indicated faulty start button. It had also indicted my keys had low battery. I bought 2 of those flat batteries similar to the originals and all problems resolved.

Makes sense. I think my daily commute to the office isn't enough to get the charge up. I'll a longer trip and post an update.

Thanks!

Eagle Mazda also want just over R2500. Asked them how long it would take to install, they weren’t sure, they hadn’t done one before

Did my AA/Car Play last night in the dark with a headlight and a curious toddler around. Was super easy. Parts around R1600 vat excl.

Just one note, if your phone has a notch and no setting to disable it or not on Android Pie 9 you will have a black bar that renders AA useless(all cars not just Mazda). Google first or you'll waste your money. Even Android One devices

Also don’t have the aircon set at the lowest setting (18C). When we got our car, I thought i-stop was faulty but noticed it became available when the aircon was at 18.5 and above
