I did not come back to it, it was the topic I was asking you about in the first place - My understanding of what Christianity means. I was clearly quite incorrect, given the answers you provided. And yes, Christianity has a long history of slaughter, whether you want to think about it or not. *shrug*

Not any better than if they are locked up (see above arguments about the success of the death penalty as a deterrent, as well as the justice system discussion).

I do agree we don't have enough prisons. But to argue your 2nd point: I don't feel comfortable funding the death penalty. Goes against my morals. Thirdly, that's a problem with our current system. And, explained above, by implementing the death penalty isn't suddenly going to make our justice system perfect. Would you want the death of some innocent person on your hands?

I'm an atheist but I think some crimes are just too heinous and deserve the death sentence. This is one. This dude has already raped a few other women - he has now murdered one, his own aunt. For money. That shows he has no understanding or compassion towards society. In short, he will never be able to function normally. Death would be humane in a way.
