I'm sorry copa but to me this is a rubbish exscuse. I used to attend courts with my mother at times ( who was a interpreter ) and so many people come and have their family beg for them to mitigate their sentance. What about the peoples lives her son ruined?

She has my sympathy, a mother does not have total control over a child, especially a adult one but he must answer for his crimes.

It is not an excuse. It is just a small part of my reasons for full rejection of the death penalty.

The lives that were ruined by the son, are not going to be in any way improved by his death. Vengeance is all well and good, but how's that worked out for us throughout history? Violence and anger just begets more anger and violence.

That he must answer for his crimes, I agree. That he must die for them? No. I find it absolutely abhorrent that we manage to be okay with taking a life, in reaction to someone else taking a life.

The cycle will never end.

God gave authorities(governments) above us the power to do this.
Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Rom 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Rom 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Rom 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Forgiveness? Yes certainly, God will forgive Him if he accepts Christ into his life.
Forgiveness from Christians?: Certainly, then the punishment by the law of the day.
Is it fair to take him away from his mother?: This has got nothing to do with his mother. It has to do with what he has done, fully knowing the consequences.

Your understanding of fairness is worrying me Copa.

In cases of crime not severe I could agree but he killed, raped and sodomised his own aunt. If he must live then he must be removed from the gene pool, castration and forced labour until death. Can anyone please explain to me what happened to the work gangs? Why must we pay for criminals to sit on their lazy asses and not force them through hardwork to pay back their debt to society.
 
or instead of death penalty those people could sacrifice him in a good biblical way :)

So... let me get this straight... Christian forgiveness involves killing him, even though there is a specific prohibition against killing in the ten commandments? In any case, all this focus on law and authority, should you not then accept that we don't allow the death penalty here? Instead you go against everything I've been led to understand about Christian morality, and instead of espousing compassion, forgiveness and understanding, you look for rationalizations for blood to be spilled.

His mother does not want him to die. This is not at all complex - Killing him will only hurt more people.

I absolutely do not think that criminals should get it easy, or that they belong in society.

Eradicate his gene pool? Too late, he has a child. Should the child be removed as well to prevent the genes from spreading? No.
By locking him up for the rest of his life he won't hurt anyone (not realistic in this country, but death penalty won't be perfect either)

Thats why I think we need the work gangs. I hate the fact that tax money is used to support these f****. They should be made to work and the prison charge folks for their services at cost to run the prison. Don't prisons in Texas actually turn a profit or something?

Not his child no but his option to ever have sex again should be removed permanently and violently.
