The most graphically advanced game?

Call me whatever you want..but I find that Oblivion on uber high settings looks better than Bioshock...maybe it's because it's outdoors...I dunno

But Bioshock's Graphics isn't even close to "The most technically advanced game". why are people talking about bioshock in this thread?

What gfx engine does COD4 use cuz i quiet like it and the fact thats its pretty fast too.

Crysis is pretty sexy - I have not made my mind up about Unreal 3.0 Engine as some titles are crap (Bioshock)

Unreal Engine 3....meh...not good enough.

Looking at how amazing GOW2 (yes Xbox platform) looks, the Unreal engine has potential.

Back to PC gaming, Crysis is the best atm

+1 for Crysis

I was amazed to see the shacks actually blow-up after I upgraded from a 6600GT to a 8800GT. Now I just have to upgrade my mobo and CPU.

That's the only downside for me with the console vs PC issue. The cost of staying "up to date"

OK the PS3 and xbox's graphics are pretty cool now, but it's still gonna be the same in 2 years time.

How can it be better graphics than ps3/xbox360 games if that pc can play it?

Medium settings... medium

Console games have highly impressive graphics, but consoles dont improve in hardware every few months like a PC can, which is why PCs will probably always be ahead (if you have top of the range parts, that is)

EDIT: Hrm... didnt see stormers basically said what i said :)

not true, the graphics on consoles DO improve, and quite nicely. And the reason being is that the game engines and such all get more and more mature and therefor take advantage of the hardware better... so with a better graphics engine, you get a 5 fps increase and that means they can improve the graphics more and use that 5fps to it's best...

Have you guys seen Resident Evil 5 previews?
I can't wait. My favorite games are the Resident Evil series.
RE4 PC version was crap graphics-wise and no mouse usability, but I still enjoyed it lank.

You can't compare a game that you can currently play vs a badly compressed youtube video.

You can't tell him that unless you know for a fact that he uses You tjoop for his gaming news/previews.

Ever heard of gamespot?

Yes, but the improvements are only for that particular "new game".
Or can you upgrade the console with some sort of firmware download?

With my graphics card upgrade I am actually trying to play my games from the start again. (wish I had more time)

COD4 uses a propriety in house graphics engine that Infinity Ward developed. It's an upgraded COD2 engine. Though not the best looking, I really do like the engine as it runs great while looking good too.

UE3 is really impressive and has a lot of potential. The difference is, with my current PC I can play UE3 games on highest settings, but Crysis will drop to 5fps (using DX9 Very High) and only at medium setting does the game become acceptable. Medium = no HDR, crap lighting, no blur effects etc etc.

But to be fair, they both are exceptional engines.

Not really, look at the first games on the PS2 and then take a look at BLACK and God of war 2, Amazing diffrence.

And the diffrence in graphics between Gears of war 1 and 2 is also quite significent.

Well, methinks I'll finally install Crysis tonight once I've put in my 4870.

He was talking about a techdemo (which is only available as a video on "You tjoop") ... not news or previews. Point is; News/previews/video's of techdemo's is all hearsay until that box is on the shelf.
