I'm very excited about this product- waiting for Orange to offer it alongside all the other smartwatches. I'm hoping that it costs no more than R3.5k.

If you want a smart watch, this is probably the best option. But it does have its problems, such as, its battery life is not good- around a day. Also, it basically displays a square on a circular screen. i.e. it cuts off the corners of the picture. It's apparently still better than anything out there at the moment

Pretty much what The Verge said in their review :)

I'm very keen to see if Apple announce a smart watch next week but otherwise this is a winner :)

You should take a look at the new LG G watch R before jumping to the Moto 360 :). It just went on sale now, sold out in 9 minutes on the Moto site. Tried to grab one, but they didnt ship to SA and i missed out :(. Will wait for orange to bring out pricing on both and see what happens. The LG has a much bigger battery, so waiting for some sort of battery tests.

IMO the 360 is a far more aesthetically pleasing watch to look at, and far more fashionable (imo).

I have two pretty expensive square face analogue watches and I would like a round-faced watch to add to my collection and I am inlove with the Moto 360. To be honest I do not mind being an early adopter of android wear here, I feel like the dealbreakers are not so much of a dealbreaker for me

I fully agree with you, the Moto watch is absolutely stunning.

However, I've taken a fancy in the new Samsung Gear S watch, don't ask why.

I have no problems with the Gear S, but I do own two really nice squarefaced analogue watches. The Moto 360 for me will be my first roundfaced watch :D

Think this would make a lot of people wet right now. Moto 360 with Orange on pre order for about R3 500. Little bit more than what I was willing to pay, but i suppose with import costs and what not it would be around that. $250 is roughly R2 700 ex VAT and shipping costs plus customs to SA. But yeah, thoughts on the pricing?

Pricing is pretty much exactly what I was expecting.

Massive round phone imitating a house clock strapped to your arm. You'll look like Flava Flav. Unless that's the idea. Have to charge it everyday just like a smartphone, because thats what it is a second smaller smartphone imitating a clock. And what does it do? Display messages, whatsapps, facebook, twitter all that sheat that you're tired of anyways. And what's the point you cant reply on that crap anyway unless u talk to the stupid thing on your arm like a moron saying the same crap over and over cause the recognition gets it wrong. You sir need a hobby the technology is crap it needs to mature. I personally want a normal watch that looks and acts like a normal watch with months or weeks of battery life that complements my phone. Like vibrates if someone important calls, acts like an instant SoS and gps when im in danger. Displays important messages on the clock background maybe and then goes back to being just another casio or swatch the rest of the day.

I'm in full agreement! What I want is essentially a Sony SmartBand integrated into my watch :)

I'd also rather spend the money on a proper watch. It will look much better, last years on each battery and won't be out of date in 12 months.

I love the look of the Moto 360 but R3500 is too much for a watch that will be outdated in a year's time.

I would actually buy a normal watch that looks like the Moto 360 with normal anolog time. I just dig the look.
But R2000 tops. No more.

Nee o doner. I really want one, but almost R4k for a watch is just plain stupid.
