if you get on well with them speak to them about it. i know it's a bit embarrassing but do it. we had a similar situation with german shepherds barking all day at nothing. we mentioned it to the owners who put a stop to it and everybody's still on good terms.

Are you in PMB cause we also have German Shepherds where a neighbour was irritating our dogs causing them to bark everytime they saw them?

I call BS on this. The same with oversensitive car alarms that goes off every 20 minutes just because the wind started blowing or a cat jumped up on the hood.

I'd call the neighbor every time the dog barks, whatever time of night it might be. And put the phone down as they answer. You lost sleep, so should they.

I call BS on this. My dog went through a barking frenzy in the wee hours of the morning. Neighbours moaned, we moaned. A few days later she was poisoned. The same morning she was poisoned the house across the street from us was nearly broken into, but the owners foiled them. We made contact with the neighbourhood police forum and they informed us that there had been a spate of house breakings in our area and our dog was the 3rd dog poisoned in a week. Poor dog was too alert for her own good.

Our whole neighbourhood is actually noisy when it comes to dogs, especially in the evenings/early mornings. But after joing our local neighbourhood policing forum we have realised just how "hot" our area is. A dog will almost always bark for a reason.

Slightly off topic, a friend of mine has adopted a dog, and every now and then she barks. It seems she barks a lot more when there is nobody home, and two neighbours have complained already. I got one of those anti-bark collars, and it seems to work remarkably well! Every time the dog barks, it vibrates or emits a beep (can be adjusted), and the dog stops. Eventually the dog associated barking with this annoyance and stops., so the dog does not need to wear the collar permanently.

Hahaha this is an old wives' tale. about 20 years ago people used to put this on their lawns, supposedly it will stop a dog from crapping there.
