But that is the entire premise of the boxset. The Directors cut, was not really the directors cut. Ridley Scott was busy with another project and send someone to do the "directors cut", which is not the "original movie" by the way.
The "original" was the theatrical release, which had the harrison ford voice over as well as the happy ending, this version, Ridley Scott hated with a passion as he was completely locked out of the editing sessions, and the studio felt the people (dumb @sses) would not get the story, therefore they added the voice overs, and they also felt the movie was a bit dark (double dumb @sses)
This box set, contains the "Final Cut", which was actually edited by Ridley Scott and some partners, that actually contains extra scene that delve more into the story.
