unfortunately we can't do that, its about gaming.
i would choose a 400mhz PII without even the upgrading option.

yeah, not at all ......... won C&C3 and played 20 minutes before barfing and uninstalling it ;)
 
but you won't with Red Alert 3. that looks awesome!
 
I didn't play C&C3, but Supreme commander was something new and fun for me...

It created a big fight once, when my cousin used his mech as a kamakazi, just walking into my base, standing there till my guys blew him up - in so blowing up my base!

I changed the server settings quick enough, but it caused some major k@k LOL

Looks isn't everything and besides he if he didn't like C&C3(Which was AWESOME!!!) he won't like RA3(Can't WAIT!!!).
If you don't like RTS, you don't like RTS. I like all games, except sport, which i still play but get bored quickly.
 
Here's a question, can you build a pc that would have the same performance has an xbox360 for the same price or less? and what would the specs be? :)
 
yeah, RTS as a whole is not my scene anymore ..... /me moved on :D

Buy a PC for R2000 and buy a decent 3D card for R2000. then buy ram/etc bit by bit when you save money on games.

Can you buy a console game at the same price as a pc game?:)

They discount the console hence why they are so cheap initially and make up for it with the games you buy. Its the strategy.
 
I only have my 360 for a select few titles that one just has to play on a console ...... but if you have the money to buy plenty 360 games, then why not (I know a chap who buys 3-6 every month :eek:)
 
I have a xbox but would play on pc if I had the cash for 1. It all comes down to $$$
 
I'm also heavily into the pc scene and have a few friends with consoles. They have tried the "my pc can't run this stuff and I have to always upgrade" line, but there is a common flaw. All the people who have to constantly upgrade their PCs aren't spending their money properly. You can get away with doing a big upgrade every 4-5 years if you buy good parts. The people who skimp a bit tend to complain. Also how often do new consoles come out? Its probably on par price wise if you buy like that.

Having said that, I'd suggest a console to anyone who is more casual, its simplicity for getting straight into a game is nice for some

It's all good when you already have the pc and just have to upgrade but for some the initial few grand is more of a burden than a console.
 
LOL, the system I was supposed to get has been prosponed to next January. . I'll hopefully be getting my 22" next month though and I think I might be getting a P4 to last me till next Jan. It's my sad pc-less story :p

Atleast my xbox360 fills the gap a little

Heard that 1 for the PS3 where they make basically a loss on hardware and make it all up in games.

& I'd say not including the HDTV cause that can be used for PC or console but I'm just thinking that an xbox is pretty much a glorified pc and it depends on your needs. If you can buy an xbox360 for cheaper than an equivalent pc to play movies,music etc then why not I guess

Because the games are cheaper.

It's actually called the razor and blades model. Razor is sold at cost while the blades have a massive mark up.

It's really surprising how many people fall it.

uh duh. xbox is R2000 itz teh cheaper than pc!!!1111

Sigh.

I feel sorry for some of you guys.
